Ethan ignored her and reached into his pocket to pull out a condom. 

He set it on the couch beside them and then started unbuttoning his shirt. 

The whole time, his hand stayed locked around her waist. 

No matter how much she struggled, all he had to do was apply a little pressure and he could control her easily. 

Emily saw that he was serious and she shouted desperately, “Ethan, snap out of it! Do you even know what you’re doing?” 

She was trying to get through to him and bring him back to his

He answered the call. Nancy sounded confused on the other end. “Ethan, aren’t you at Joy Gardens?” 

Ethan replied flatly, “No, I came back to Wilson Manor.” 

Nancy sounded like she’d been crying. Her voice was hoarse and rough. She asked hesitantly, “Can you come back? I need to talk to you.”

Ethan felt his shirt getting wet from Nancy’s tears, but he didn’t complain. Instead, he asked gently, “What wishes?” 

Nancy looked up at Ethan. “I’m already 26 years old. She said I’m still not married.” 

Ethan paused when he heard that and went quiet. 

Nancy hurried to say, “Ethan, I know this puts you in a tough 

position.”
