A sleepless night seized Emily after Alexander’s departure. 

Meanwhile, Ethan’s vow to return faded like a mirage in the desert. 

As daylight crept in, the nurse’s ward–round made sleep a distant thought. 

Emily picked up her phone and scrolled through videos. 

To her annoyance, Nancy’s account popped up again, defying her “not interested” mark.

Sophia jolted at the outburst, sitting there like a deer in the headlights, her eyes fixed on her mom striding into the room.

Just then, the door swung open, and in walked Andrew. 

He’d been swamped since he heard Sophia was sick and finally managed to squeeze in a visit, only to stumble upon this mess.
