In no time, the car pulled up in the parking lot outside the fancy Italian bistro. 

Upon arrival, Emily’s eyes immediately landed on Ethan’s sleek sedan. 

His car had just come to a halt, yet Ethan was already out in a flash, unbuckling his seatbelt in a hurry. He dashed around the car to the passenger side, swung the door open, and bent down to shield Nancy’s head from the car roof as he helped her out. 

The sight of it all was like a dagger to Emily’s heart. 

Memories of their five–year marriage came flooding back; Ethan had never once treated her with such tenderness. 

But with Nancy, every chivalrous act seemed second 

nature. 

While Aaron was parking the car, he then made his way to the backseat to open the door for Emily.

“If you’ve got things to do, just go. Aaron’s here, and I’ll be okay,” she told him.
