Aurelia paused for a split second as she was typing. 

She was surprised that Tessa actually knew the password to Cassian’s safe. 

But then she thought she was just making a big deal out of nothing. 

‘When has Cassian ever kept anything from Tessa?‘ Aurelia thought to herself. 

‘Just the usual,‘ she told herself. 

By the time Cassian finished his call, Aurelia had already made the final edits to the proposal and sent it over for him to review. 

Cassian read through it, didn’t have any objections, and signed it right away. 

When they wrapped up, Cassian asked politely, “It’s just about dinner time. Would you like to join us, Ms. Corin?” 

Aurelia replied with equal politeness, “No, thanks. I don’t really fancy playing third wheel. You two have a great dinner.” 

Just as they left the meeting room, Tessa showed up. 

It was obvious she was there for Cassian. 

She spotted Aurelia, gave her a frosty once–over, then strutted right into the meeting room, acting all high and mighty. 

Soon, Tessa’s flirty voice could be heard from inside. 

“Come on, Cassian, I already ordered. Let’s go,” she called out. 

“Sure,” Cassian replied. 

The moment Aurelia got in the car, she dialed up Arturo. 

“Where are you?” she asked. 

“I’m on my way back to Ashmont. Need to talk to you about something important,” Arturo replied. 

“It’s about the Alpite Group deal,” he added. 

Ewan had his back against the wall and was forced to sell Alpite Group. 

This was the perfect chance to strike, so Aurelia called Arturo without hesitation. 

She’d already been planning to open a studio for Arturo anyway. 

Why go through all the trouble of hiring people and buying gear when you could just buy a ready–made company and save a fortune?

Funny enough, Aurelia actually felt grateful to Tessa for that.

Last time they went to a hot spring resort, but this time, they’d head to a vacation resort instead. 

Midway through the fun, Aurelia got a call from Stephen, asking her to swing by the golf course in Plum Hills. He said he wanted to introduce her to someone. 

It wasn’t until she was on her way that Aurelia found out Stephen was introducing her to none other than Ryan Walker, the legendary “Godfather of Chips.” 

Connections like this didn’t come around every day. 

But Aurelia hadn’t expected Cassian and Tessa to catch wind of it and show up too. 

Honestly, it was no trouble for Cassian to find out about something like this. 

And for him, this was the perfect chance to give Tessa a boost. 

When Tessa saw Aurelia, she automatically frowned, making it obvious she wasn’t too fond of her. 

Aurelia barely glanced their way and headed straight into the golf club. 

The three of them showed up almost at the same time, just a step apart. 

Stephen and Ryan were enjoying their conversation, looking quite at ease. 

When Stephen saw Aurelia, he greeted her with a friendly smile. 

Meanwhile, Cassian introduced them to Tessa. “That’s Mr. Walker in the white tracksuit, and the other is Dr. Stephen Horton. You’ve definitely heard of him.” 

“Of course I know him. Dr. Horton is my idol,” Tessa said, her face lighting up with excitement. 

She hadn’t expected today to turn out so well for her. 

Not only did she get to meet the legendary Godfather of Chips, but also Stephen himself. 

Stephen had been all smiles when he saw Aurelia, but the moment he caught sight of the two trailing behind her, his face instantly cooled. 

His displeasure was written all over his face. 

As Aurelia walked over, he snorted twice, loud enough for everyone to hear, making it clear he was still nursing a grudge. 

Stephen grumbled to himself, ‘If it weren’t for that guy, I wouldn’t have lost such a talented protégé!‘ 

With a brain like hers, if she’d just gone for it, who knows how far she’d be in the academic world by now, he mused. 

‘She wouldn’t have to be out here, humbling herself just to build connections,‘ Stephen thought. 

‘She could be the very network others strive to join!‘ he added to himself. 

And yet, the man who made her give up such a promising future not only betrayed her feelings, but was now publicly

Ryan paused, stopping mid–wipe as he cleaned his club. “Ascend Group?” 

“That’s right,” Tessa replied, her confidence on full display. 

After all, Ascend Group was a major player in the industry. There was no way Ryan hadn’t heard of them. 

But to her surprise, Ryan’s demeanor cooled noticeably after she introduced herself. 

He just gave a faint “mm” and kept wiping his club, not even looking up. 

The chilly response left Tessa unsure how to keep the conversation going. 

Seeing an opening, Aurelia walked up to Ryan and said, “Hello, Mr. Walker. I’m Aurelia Corin from Regal Investment. Nice to meet you.” 

“Regal Investment? The one that incubated InquireMind?” Ryan asked, clearly knowing a lot ab world. 

“That’s right,” Aurelia replied.

“Come on, young lady, don’t be so humble. Pulling this off in your twenties? If I were you, I’d be shouting it from the rooftops.” Ryan burst out laughing, his laughter booming and infectious. 

Clearly, he was the real deal, straightforward and genuine. 

The way Ryan suddenly warmed up to Aurelia after being so cold to her made Tessa feel like she was getting the cold 

shoulder. 

She was annoyed, but quickly composed herself and kept her feelings in check. 

Instead, she turned to Stephen and greeted him enthusiastically, “Dr. Horton, I’ve been a huge fan for ages. It’s such an

So she jumped in to talk about her time studying abroad. “While I was working on my Ph.D. at Whitvale School of Management, my advisor, Professor William, would always break down your papers for me. The one that really stuck with me was The Synergistic Pathways of Olympiad Math Education and Advanced Mathematics Talent Development. I couldn’t wrap my head around it at first, but Professor William explained it in detail until I finally got it.” 

“Whitvale School of Management?” Stephen blinked in surprise. 

Tessa’s confidence grew, a proud smile tugging at her lips. “Yes, I graduated from Whitvale School of Management.” 

“That’s pretty impressive,” Stephen said, his tone neutral. 

But after saying that, he gave Aurelia a knowing look that said more than words ever could. 

If he remembered correctly, Aurelia had received an offer from Whitvale too, back then.
