Hector grinned, “Want me to play matchmaker? Our hospital just hired this young, good–looking actor from overseas 1 think you two would really hit it off. Interested in meeting him?”

“I’m just way too busy with work. I don’t have the energy for a relationship, so I don’t want admitted.

“It’s a man’s job to handle the relationship. Girls just need to be loved, no need to stress about it,” Hector said. 

Hector was all in on trying to set her up, really selling this top–notch guy he had in mind. 

“Tell you what, I’ll share his WhatsApp with you. You guys can chat online first, and if you think he’s cool, you can meet up. It’s super chill, that’s how people do it now anyway,” he suggested. 

“Dr. Butler, when’s the right time for acupuncture?” Cassian suddenly blurted out, catching everyone off guard. 

Hector hesitated for a moment before replying, “Usually after about 30 hours. If the swelling’s still there, then acupuncture might be needed.” 

“Do we need to go to the hospital for that, or…?” Cassian asked, sounding genuinely worried about Ryan’s injury. 

Hector replied, “Either way works. I usually don’t do house calls, but since you’re Aurelia’s friends, I can make an exception.” 

“Looks like we’ll have to ask you to come over,” Cassian said. 

“No problem at all,” Hector replied, sounding totally chill. 

But thanks to Cassian’s interruption, Hector ended up forgetting to send over the guy’s WhatsApp contact to Aurelia. 

‘Aurelia secretly breathed a sigh of relief,’ she thought. 

Once the ice treatment was done, Hector prescribed two herbal patches. 

“Let me give you a ride,” Aurelia offered.

“Well, since I’m already here, might as well check your pulse,” Hector insisted, clearly wanting to make sure for himself. 

He reached out and took Aurelia’s hand before she even had a chance to say no. 

As he checked her pulse, Hector said, “Looks like you’ve been taking care of yourself lately. You’re definitely a lot healthier than you were before.” 

“But diet alone won’t cut it. Your body took quite a hit last time, so you still need some herbal remedies to really get you back on track,” he added.

Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat. 

She’d almost forgotten the fact that Hector knew she’d lost the baby. 

Her body tensed up, and she instinctively shot a glance at Cassian. 

He looked totally absorbed in his phone, not even glancing her way. 

Truth was, he’d never given a damn about how she was doing. 

Either way, Aurelia let out a silent sigh of relief. 

Hector knew this wasn’t the time or place to bring it up, especially since it concerned a woman’s reputation.

“Swing by my office when you get a chance, and I’ll give you a thorough pulse check and prescribe some herbal medicine,” he said. 

Then, with a serious look, he reminded her, “Don’t brush this off.” 

“Alright,” Aurelia said quietly. 

Just as Aurelia was about to see Hector out, Cassian cut in and said he’d handle it. 

He told Aurelia to stay and help Ryan put on the patches Hector gave him. 

Aurelia showed Ryan how to use the patches. 

Since these were black medicated patches, they needed to be softened with hot water before applying. 

With Ryan’s ankle all messed up, Aurelia told him to just sit tight and let her handle it. 

“Sorry for the trouble,” Ryan said. 

“Don’t mention it, Ryan. When you’re away from home, friends are all you’ve got,” Aurelia replied with a smile. 

Ryan had always liked Aurelia, but now he found her even more pleasant to be around. 

He struck up a casual conversation with her, and when he found out she and Murel were working o chip project, he got really pumped about it.

“Murel’s seriously talented, and you’ve got a sharp eye for good projects, Ms. Corin. This is a game–changer. Ter‘ is what powers a country’s future, and it’s folks like you and Murel who are going to shape where things go next,” Ryan said. 

Aurelia didn’t try to take any credit. “Really, it’s Mr. Abbott who deserves the praise.” 

But Ryan didn’t agree. 

“Talented people are everywhere, but folks who can actually spot that talent? Now that’s rare. Take InquireMind, for example, if you hadn’t recognized its value, it might still be sitting on the shelf, or worse, we’d be lagging behind other countries,” Ryan said. 

“Don’t be so humble, Ms. Corin. Sure, having great talent is important, but without someone with an eye for it, even the brightest gems can stay hidden and never get their chance to shine,” he added. 

“Since we’re already talking about this, I’ve got a bit of an ask. Hope you’ll think it over,” Aurelia said. 

She hadn’t planned to bring it up tonight, but since the mood was right, she figured now was as good a time as any to mention it to Ryan.

Taking a deep breath, Aurelia said seriously, “Would you consider being our technical advisor? Is ally hope you’ll give us a

Cassian had been out for quite a while. By the time he got back, Aurelia had already finis and was getting ready to leave. 

Cassian said his goodbyes to Ryan as well. 

When Cassian came out, Aurelia was already waiting by the elevator. 

He was heading downstairs too, so of course he went along with her. 

The elevator arrived quickly, and some renovation workers showed up with equipment for the floor.

Aurelia and Cassian moved aside, waiting for the workers to finish unloading their stuff from the elevator. 

The cargo slid out of the elevator, lost its support, and tipped in the direction where Aurelia and Cassian were standing. 

“Careful!” Cassian called out. 

Cassian reached out and yanked Aurelia back just in time. 

As Aurelia lost her balance and stumbled backward, Cassian reacted fast, catching her and slipping an arm around her waist to keep her from falling. 

She wobbled a bit before steadying herself. 

The very next moment, she quickly pulled herself out of Cassian’s hold and stepped back, making sure to put some space between them. 

The warmth lingering on his fingers made Cassian swallow hard, almost without thinking.
