After saying that, Aurelia couldn’t help but fall silent. 

She remembered how, back then, Mia had once told her the exact same thing. 

She never imagined that, after everything that’s happened, she’d be the one standing on the sidelines, offering advice to someone else. 

Miranda had no idea what was going through Aurelia’s mind. She continued, oblivious to Aurelia’s thoughts, “He won’t let me lose.” 

Yeah, that’s exactly what I said back then,’ Aurelia thought. 

‘Love really does make people blind,‘ she thought. 

So now, she really didn’t want it anymore. 

She didn’t want it from anyone, not from anyone at all. 

‘The charm was gone for good, Aurelia thought. 

‘That kind of love only exists in stories and TV dramas,‘ she thought. 

When Aurelia looked at the people around her, she couldn’t help but think, ‘Honestly, hardly anyone is actually happy because of love.‘ 

“Are you going to be working late tonight?” Miranda asked, frowning as she glanced at the thick stack of files on Aurelia’s desk. 

“Yeah,” Aurelia replied. She had to get all this done before she could fully focus on the IPO roadshow. 

“Then I’ll stay with you,” Miranda said. 

After saying that, Miranda started organizing the files on Aurelia’s desk without being asked. 

Aurelia went back to her work. 

Once Miranda finished tidying up, she plopped down next to Aurelia and pulled up her calendar for the next few days. 

She wanted to see if there was any wiggle room, just so Aurelia could catch a break. 

Miranda could see how exhausted Aurelia was, and it honestly made her heart ache. 

But after poring over the schedule for ages, she realized there was literally no time to spare.

Miranda grumbled in frustration, “Comparing yourself to others will drive you crazy! Aurelia, you’re working yourself to the bone, while some people still have time to go on vacations and live it up.” 

As soon as the words left her mouth, Miranda instantly regretted it. 

She was annoyed at herself for always speaking before she thought, a habit she just couldn’t seem to break. 

In frustration, she gave herself a slap on the mouth. 

Aurelia could only smile wryly, “You’re talking about Tessa going on vacation, right? I already knew.” 

After all, she was still connected with Cassian on WhatsApp.

Three days ago. Cassian posted an update. 

Everything was fine. 

Along with a picture of the sea. It was clear he was on vacation. 

Cassian was the type who almost never posted anything, so when he finally did, the comments blew up. There was no way you could miss it. 

The real issue was, both of them were big players in finance, so their mutual friends list was massive. 

Jasper was the worst offender. 

He was blowing up the comments, whining non–stop. 

He kept moaning about how Cassian went off to have fun and didn’t bother to invite him. 

Cassian only replied to Jasper, “Why are you so eager to be a third wheel?” 

From that reply, it was pretty obvious he was vacationing with Tessa. 

She didn’t really care about all that drama. 

When she saw Cassian’s post, the first thing that popped into her head was that he bounced back just fine. 

Whatever guilt she’d been holding onto was gone for good. 

Her mind was completely occupied with the first IPO roadshow. 

This was the most critical part of InquireMind’s listing plan. Aurelia couldn’t afford to let her guard down for a second. 

She double–checked every detail herself, from the timing and venue to the guest list and media invites. Nothing slipped past her. 

Once everything was finally in place, Aurelia finally let herself relax a little. 

Tyson glanced at her, seeing how exhausted she looked from all the crazy work lately, and honestly felt bad for her. 

“You’ve been working so hard,” he said softly. 

“You too, Aurelia replied, then reminded him, “This roadshow is super important for InquireMind’s IPO. Make sure you’ve got your speech down pat. Don’t mess it up, okay?” 

“Alright, let’s pretend this whole conference room is the venue for tomorrow’s roadshow. Picture it packed with people and reporters from all the major media outlets. Let’s run through your speech without any notes,” Aurelia suggested. 

She knew Tyson always got jittery in front of a crowd, so she was helping him get comfortable with the spotlight. 

Tyson stepped up to the front of the room, looking all serious, and started his mock speech. 

Aurelia whipped out her phone, playing the part of a reporter, and started snapping pictures of Tyson as he spoke, 

They ran through it again and again, just to make sure everything was perfect. 

“That was perfect. Let’s keep that energy for tomorrow,” Aurelia said, her voice full of encouragement. 

Tyson looked at Aurelia, gratitude shining in his eyes, and something deeper swirling beneath the surface. 

He did his best to keep his feelings under control speaking as calmly as he could “Aurelia if InquireMind really goes public,

He was talking about the time he confessed his feelings to her.

Aurelia was still watching the video she’d just recorded. When she heard Tyson, she glanced up, puzzled. “What?” 

“It’s nothing.” Tyson said, his nerve just vanishing again. 

‘Maybe it’s just not the right moment yet,‘ he thought. 

‘I can always say it after InquireMind goes public. No need to rush,’ he told himself. 

‘I don’t want Aurelia thinking I’ve got my mind on anything else,’ he thought. 

Right now, getting InquireMind listed was the top priority. Nothing else even came close. 

Aurelia’s mind was 100% on the IPO; she didn’t have the bandwidth to think about anything else. 

After she’d double–checked every last detail, at ten o’clock the night before the roadshow, she suddenly got a call. There was a problem with the venue. 

The big hall they’d reserved had already been booked out, and now the only thing left was a tiny side room next door. 

Miranda instantly lost it. “What do you mean it’s already booked? We confirmed this two weeks ago! Why didn’t you say anything back then? And now, just one day before the event, you tell me it’s gone? Does that even make sense?” 

The coordinator just sounded cold as ice. “There was a miscommunication. Sorry, but there’s nothing I can do.” 

“You think just saying ‘nothing you can do‘ fixes everything? Do you even realize we’ve already sent out all the invitations?” Miranda snapped back, her voice rising. 

“The problem’s already happened. Our solution is to let you use the smaller venue for free. It’s right next door, so just inform your guests,” the coordinator replied, completely indifferent. 

“You…” Miranda was about to explode. 

But the coordinator abruptly hung up before she could finish. 

With her brows furrowed, Aurelia asked, “What’s going on?” 

She’d already pieced most of it together from the way things sounded, but she asked anyway, just to be sure. 

Once Miranda finished explaining, Aurelia shot to her feet. “I’m heading over there. You guys, prep for both options.” 

“It’s almost eleven! Where are you going?” Miranda asked anxiously, her worry clear in her voice. 

Miranda was visibly anxious. 

Aurelia didn’t even glance back as she left Regal Investment, telling the driver to take her straight to Ashmont University. 

She’d chosen this venue for the roadshow because college students were the ideal crowd for promoting Al. They were great for recruiting top university talent, had a strong online presence, and could really generate word–of–mouth and targeted publicity. 

College students had plenty of free time, tended to stick together, and loved sharing things online. They were the main force on social media, which made them perfect for free publicity and brand exposure. 

That was why this place was too good to give up. Aurelia wasn’t going to let it go without a fight.

By the time she got there, it was almost midnight. 

Aurelia flashed her temporary pass and hurried straight to Hall A. 

When she arrived, she found the directional signs Regal Investment had made dumped right in the trash can. 

In their place were signs advertising HelixTech’s roadshow. 

Aurelia froze, her eyes locked on the sign. Those bold letters hit her like a punch. 

“Hey, make way!” one of the workers shouted. 

A couple of movers were busy lugging boxes and equipment through the hall. 

Walter quickly steered Aurelia to the side so she wouldn’t get run into. 

As they worked, the movers grumbled under their breath. 

“Dragging us in for overtime in the middle of the night, not a single friendly face, and acting like we owe them something. They’re the ones who switched the venue last minute. Why are they giving us attitude?” one of them complained. 

The other guy just groaned, “Making money sucks, but dealing with this crap is even worse.” 

Walter walked over, handed one of the movers a cigarette, and struck up a conversation. “Hey man, weren’t you guys. supposed to be here from the start?” 

“Nah, we were supposed to be at a five–star hotel. Got a last–minute notice tonight to move everything here instead. Isn’t that a pain?” the mover grumbled. 

“Yeah, that sucks,” the driver agreed. 

Aurelia listened closely, and it clicked right away. Tessa was muscling in on her turf again.
