Chapter 261Â
Mandy spotted quite a few familiar faces inside, ladies from her social circle.Â
There were also some folks from investment companies mingling around.Â
Miranda went over to talk to them and came back to tell Aurelia, “They’re guests from HelixTech. Their roadshow ended early, so they came over to check things out. They said we don’t need to set aside any special seats for them.”Â
Even so, Aurelia still had Miranda handle the seating arrangements anyway.Â
But the venue was just too small, and with more and more guests arriving, it quickly became overcrowded.Â
Before long, the whole place was packed and so crowded that they couldn’t even squeeze through the entrance. Tons of people were left stranded outside, unable to get in.Â
The turnout was insane, honestly jaw–dropping.Â
Miranda was totally out of her depth. She kept turning to Aurelia, asking, “What do we do now?”Â

Wanting to put on a better show, Aurelia wasted no time and called up Alfred, asking if they could borrow the sports field for a spur–of–the–moment roadshow.Â
Since Alfred already owed Aurelia one, he agreed without hesitation and even got the school staff to pitch in.Â
As Tessa and her crew stepped out of Hall A, they were met with a sea of people all rushing toward the sports field.Â
Among them were quite a few guests HelixTech had invited.Â
“Make way! Make way!” someone shouted.Â
People were getting frustrated, shouting at Tessa and her crew to get out of the way.Â
Alina didn’t move fast enough and someone ran right into her.Â
Tessa quickly grabbed Alina, just managing to pull her out of the way before she got hit.Â
The person who bumped into her immediately apologized, “Sorry. Sorry…”Â
Alina blinked, “Mrs. Gold?” She realized it was one of the guests she’d invited to the HelixTech roadshow.Â
Just earlier, before the roadshow had even finished, Carlee Gold had said her pet dog had gone missing and she was desperate to go look for him.Â
Alina actually believed her and even told her not to worry.Â
Turns out she ditched us to catch InquireMind’s show.Â
Carlee was mortified, caught red–handed.Â
‘Of all the people to bump into, why did it have to be Alina?‘ she thought, feeling utterly embarrassed.Â
Alina’s face instantly darkened, her expression turning cold and unpleasant.Â
Seeing everyone else rushing to the sports field to grab a good spot, Carlee didn’t care about keeping up appearances anymore. She mumbled a quick apology and bolted, not even glancing at Alina’s sour face.Â
Tessa’s expression was stormy, her eyes glinting with cold anger. Her hand tightened around Alina’s arm without her evenÂ

realizing.Â
“What are you standing here for? Move it!” Alina barked, her patience gone.Â
She was clearly in a terrible mood, her words sharp and biting.Â

She’d been hoping today would finally let her earn some respect among the ladies, but it had all blown up in her face.Â
‘How am I supposed to keep my place among these women now?‘ Alina thought, feeling utterly defeated.Â
Tessa was feeling pretty down herself.Â
Especially when they passed by the sports field and saw the packed crowd at InquireMind’s roadshow. It stung even more.Â
‘If I’d known it would turn out like this, I never would’ve picked Ashmont University for our roadshow!‘ Tessa thought, kicking herself inside.Â
She’d picked this place hoping to outshine Aurelia and knock her down a peg.Â
But in the end, she’d just ended up playing right into Aurelia’s hands.Â
“Let’s not dwell on it. Let’s just head back,” Cassian said, trying to spare Tessa from feeling any worse.Â
He could see she was upset, so he stepped in to comfort her.Â
“I’ll ask the police about it later,” Cassian added.Â
“Sorry for the trouble,” Alina said, sounding a bit guilty.Â
“No problem,” Cassian replied.Â
Seeing Cassian still looking out for Tessa, Alina finally felt a little better.Â
But at the same time, she couldn’t help but wonder why the cops were suddenly onto Vanessa.Â
All she could do now was hope Vanessa would keep her cool and not say a word.Â
When Kyler saw Tessa running into trouble, he wasted no time and called up Wade, asking if he knew anyone with the cops who could help him get the inside scoop.Â
Wade was out doing a site visit when he picked up. He frowned and said, “Honestly, you’d better stay out of this. If she’s clean, the cops will let her walk. If not, she’ll have to deal with the law.”Â
Kyler knew Wade was the type who always played it by the book.Â
Wade wasn’t budging, so Kyler just gave up and hung up.Â
After weighing his options, Kyler finally picked up the phone and called his old man.Â
The old man had way more connections than Kyler ever could. After all, their family used to be part of the old elite.Â
At first, his father wasn’t on board with the idea.Â
But when Kyler explained that the person in question was most likely the benefactor who’d once helped their family out, his father’s attitude changed in a heartbeat.Â
“I’ll make a call right now and see what I can find out,” Elias promised.Â
Kyler was on edge, waiting anxiously for his father’s call.Â

He was just about to head out, but when he passed by the sports field, he spotted InquireMind’s roadshow.Â
The scene was wild, packed, and lively.Â
Kyler stopped in his tracks, just watching from afar.Â
After Tyson wrapped up his unscripted speech, the crowd was still hyped, hungry for more. People started firing off questions, wanting to know how InquireMind first came to life.Â
Tyson grinned and began telling everyone how InquireMind got its start.Â
He pulled up the very first PowerPoint he ever put together.Â
Then he looked over at the investors and asked, “So, what’s your first impression of this?”Â
Someone immediately questioned, “Honestly, this looks like something a fresh grad just put together. It’s pretty rough. No joke, even my intern could do better.”Â
Everyone chimed in, agreeing wholeheartedly.Â
Everyone was seriously questioning why Tyson would show a PPT like this.Â
Tyson didn’t rush to answer their questions. Instead, he turned to the investors and asked, “So, if you saw a presentation like this, would you actually want to invest?”Â
“Honestly, no,” someone replied.Â
Tyson nodded. “If I were in your shoes now and someone handed me a PPT like this, I wouldn’t even bother with them. I’d probably think they were joking.”Â
With everyone laughing, Tyson went on, “Back then, I was fresh out of college, no experience at all, just running on pure nerve. I took this rough, bare–bones PPT and tried pitching it to anyone who would listen.”Â
“You can probably guess. I got rejected left and right. It was honestly embarrassing,” he added.Â
“I pretty much went all over Ashmont, pitching to anyone who would listen, including your companies, by the way. But back then, I got rejected before I even made it to the boss, so it’s no wonder none of you remember me.”Â
Tyson looked out over the crowd, catching Aurelia’s supportive gaze from across the room.Â
His tone shifted, becoming more earnest.Â
“Just when I was about to give up on my startup dreams and settle for a regular nine–to–five, I got a call from Ms. Corin. At the time, she was the chief secretary at Honoria Capital.Â
“Out of all those multi–million–dollar projects, she singled out my tiny project, which was barely worth tens of thousands, and invited me in for a face–to–face meeting,” he said.Â
“I remember the first time I met her, I was so nervous my hands were sweating. I knew that was probably my last chance at making it,” Tyson said.Â
“I was so tense, I could barely string a sentence together. I thought I was doomed. But Ms. Corin asked to see my resume and wanted to know why I wanted to build this thing and what I was aiming for,” he went on.Â
“Back then, my dreams were way too big. Looking back, I was just selling dreams. But after thinking it over, Ms. Corin told me she was going to invest in my project,” Tyson said.Â
“After that, she always had my back, sending me case studies from all over, helping me figure out the market direction…” he added.Â
Chapter 261Â
“Seriously, she gave me tons of advice!” Tyson finished.Â
“Let me be clear. Without Ms. Corin, there’d be no InquireMind, and I wouldn’t be standing here in front of you all today.” Tyson said, his voice ringing with gratitude and respect.Â
As Kyler listened, his eyes darkened.Â
Wait, wasn’t InquireMind the project everyone said Aurelia stole from my senior?‘ Kyler couldn’t help but wonder, suspicion creeping in.Â
