Tessa felt Aurelia really kept shattering her worldview, time and time again. She was stringing along Gideon, getting ambiguous with Liam, and now trying to flirt with Wade. She truly despised this behavior. 

So she deliberately sent a message to the group chat: [Guess who I saw at Ashmont University?] 

Normally, the only one who would pop up in the chat was Jasper, the slacker. After all, he just had way too much time on his hands. 

Ever since Aurelia bought into EverMass Group, he basically lost all decision–making power and became no different from the other dividend–collecting shareholders. 

Every day, aside from just lazing around, he was doing absolutely nothing. That was why he was always the first to reply to Tessa’s messages. 

[Who did you see?] 

[Aurelia and Wade look like they’re now actually together.] 

Liam had caught Aurelia and Wade grabbing dinner together before, but Tessa didn’t think from this perspective at that time. She felt that Wade would never be interested in a woman like Aurelia. 

But after seeing the way Wade looked at Aurelia with her own eyes, Tessa realized she had totally underestimated Aurelia’s talent for hooking guys. 

Of course, the reason she messaged the group chat was to expose Aurelia’s true colors to everyone. ‘Some people pretend to be all pure and decent, but behind closed doors, they’re way more open than anyone else.

Throughout the lecture, Tessa barely paid attention. She was glued to her phone, watching for any buzz in the group chat. But Gideon never chimed in. 

‘Guess he just can’t face the facts, Tessa thought. A hint of mockery flashed across her face. 

After the lecture, Stephen called Aurelia and asked her to come over for dinner at his place. Wade had planned to invite Aurelia out for dinner, but it turned out she had another date. 

He felt a bit disappointed, but he understood and suggested having dinner another day. He felt like he had hit the jackpot just bumping into her today. 

Only when Aurelia got to Stephen’s place did she realize he had a guest. It was Elias. Elias had met Aurelia before, but at that time, she showed up with Gideon, and Elias had thought she was Gideon’s girlfriend. 

At that time, Aurelia was rather low–key. She ate quietly and hardly spoke at all, so Elias didn’t really pay attention to her. This time, Stephen had invited Aurelia alone over for dinner, so Elias started to pay attention to her. 

“Are you Professor Horton’s student?” Elias asked. 

Stephen was in the kitchen whipping up his signature dishes, so with just the two of them in the living room, Elias started a 

conversation. 

Aurelia paused for a moment before answering, “Not yet. I’m planning to apply for Professor Horton’s master’s program. I’ll be his student if my application succeeds.” After all, she had been dismissed as his student halfway through before. 

Stephen had two types of students. One was the students of the master’s program whom he supervised on behalf of the university. The standards were sky high, and only one or two people a year could quality.

The other was way more exclusive. One could call them his handpicked protégés. To get that spot, one needed off–the–charts math talent. That was the only way Stephen would consider. 

All these years, he had only accepted five students. And of all his students, the one Stephen had the highest expectation was dismissed halfway through. 

Although Kyler was talented, he still didn’t meet Stephen’s standards. It was only after Elias begged Stephen repeatedly that he finally, reluctantly, agreed to take him. 

Whenever Elias dropped by to catch up with Stephen, Stephen would always mention the protégé he had let go. His tone was always tinged with regret whenever he mentioned her. 

However, Stephen never revealed any details about her identity, so Elias was pretty much in the dark. He only knew that it was a girl. 

Apparently, she was so head–over–heels for some guy that she gave up her whole promising future. That was why Stephen had a real love–hate thing for her. 

In fact, Elias really wanted to meet this girl, whom his family still owed a huge favor. Kyler had said that the person might be Tessa. Elias had come to Ashmont this time to confirm it. 

Before Aurelia showed up, he had already chatted with Stephen for a bit. But he just hadn’t gotten around to bringing up that topic yet. 

When Kyler heard Aurelia was aiming to get into Stephen’s master’s program, he had to admit he was impressed. “Getting into Professor Horton’s master’s program isn’t easy. You’ll really have to work your tail off,” Elias said, a hint of respect in his voice. 

“Yeah,” Aurelia said. 

Stephen finally emerged from the kitchen with his signature dishes and waved them over for dinner. He even uncorked a nice bottle of wine. 

At the dinner table, Stephen asked Aurelia about her work. “Things’re moving forward smoothly,” Aurelia replied. 

“Looks like Ryan didn’t lie to me. You really have been running MegaTech pretty well. I heard there’s been another tech breakthrough?” Stephen said. 

“Yeah, it’s still in the testing phase. Once the performance is stable, we’ll make it public,” Aurelia answered. 

Elias cut in, a hint of urgency in his voice, “So you’re the one leading the restructuring at Megatech?” 

Aurelia replied, “Yes.” Elias’s view of her instantly changed; he looked at her with newfound respect. 

“I never thought you’d be so young! The new generation is really making waves. Frankly, Evergreen Group had been gunning to take charge of MegaTech, but Mrs. Keith shot us down,” Elias said, sounding a little regretful. 

Aurelia knew about this matter, but she wouldn’t want to comment. 

“Ms. Corin, I actually have a request,” Elias said, his tone growing noticeably more respectful. 

“My son’s just returned from Whitvale School of Management. He’s been eager to start something on his own but hasn’t found the right opportunity yet. I hope you can mentor him and help him get started,” he continued. 

Aurelia didn’t expect Elias to make such a request. She was rather surprised. “Have you talked to your son about this, Mr. Ackerley?” Aurelia asked, not rushing to answer. 

Elias said honestly, “Not yet, but he’s always keen on learning new things.”

“Maybe you should talk it over with him first,” Aurelia said. Since Elias was an old friend of Stephen’s, Aurelia didn’t want to turn him down directly, so she could only say so. 

Elias replied without hesitation, “He’ll definitely agree.” 

After dinner, Stephen handed Aurelia a thick pile of materials. He then grumbled, “These are all the important pointers. Make sure you study hard. Don’t make me look bad!” 

Knowing he was joking, Aurelia teased him, “Isn’t this favoritism?” 

Stephen snorted, puffing up with pride, “So what? Can’t I have this little privilege?” He was merely giving her some materials, not the actual test answers. 

What a willful old man,‘ Aurelia thought to herself. She didn’t hesitate, just grabbed the materials and headed out. 

Before Aurelia reached the gate, Stephen called after her, “Don’t drive if you’ve been drinking.” 

“Relax, I’ve got a driver,” Aurelia replied. Only then did Stephen get back to the house. 

Meanwhile, Elias was on the phone with Kyler, telling him all about the favor he had just asked Aurelia at dinner. Kyler fell silent after hearing that. 

‘Aurelia to be my mentor… Isn’t that just straight–up humiliating?‘ Kyler thought, feeling awkward. 

“Why are you keeping quiet? What, you’re unwilling? Do you know how incredible Ms. Corin is? She single–handedly led MegaTech’s restructuring, and she has the InquireMind project in her pocket. She’s on a whole other level! 

“If she’s willing to mentor you, that’s pure luck on your end, and you’re actually acting all reluctant?” Elias reprimanded, totally exasperated, and didn’t even want to waste another word. He just slammed the phone after scolding Kyler.

Stephen’s liquor was quite strong, and it really packed a punch afterward. After getting in the car, Aurelia slept throughout the journey. 

Still groggy, Aurelia vaguely heard the driver say, “Ms. Corin, Mr. Locke is here to corner you again.”
