Tessa returned to the Rowe family home in a great mood and saw that Daniel was back. She greeted him with a smile and, while chatting, asked him about the HelixTech review.

“I just had dinner with your Uncle yesterday,” Daniel said. “He mentioned that the higher–ups are paying close attention to the HelixTech project.” Because of his sensitive position, Daniel didn’t go into detail.

Even so, Tessa felt more at ease. If the higher–ups were paying attention, it meant this project had great potential. That also meant HelixTech had a really high chance of getting listed successfully.

‘What a lucky day–two wins in one go!‘ Tessa thought to herself.

Aurelia flew out to Granville for the weekend to visit Joanna. Eric had learned of his arrival because he’d already had the butler set up a room for Aurelia and arranged dinner for her. As for Eric, he wasn’t in Granville. He was out of the country on a business trip.

The butler had arranged for Aurelia to stay right at the Campbell family manor. As Aurelia looked around, she couldn’t help but think of Zofia.

But sadly, everything connected to her had been erased from the manor, as if she’d never even been part of their lives. Still, she lingered in everyone’s hearts, always present, no matter what.

Aurelia made it back to Ashmont early Sunday morning, since she was set to attend a charity auction that night. Mandy hosted the whole thing.

Liam hadn’t shown up for the restaurant’s anniversary party a couple of days ago. He’d been holding out for this charity gala instead. After all, this was what really mattered to the Porter family.

Before heading out, Jasper tagged Tessa in the group chat and asked what time she’d be arriving.

Tessa took a while to reply: [I’ve got an important engagement, so I can’t make it.]

‘I was hoping we could hang out again,‘ Jasper thought, feeling a bit disappointed.

However, Tessa soon replied: [Let’s meet up in a couple of days. I’ve got some good news to share with everyone.]

Jasper immediately asked: [Oh? What’s the good news?]

[You’ll find out soon enough!] Tessa replied, playing coy and keeping everyone guessing.

No matter how much Jasper tried to pry, Tessa kept her lips sealed. At that moment, Tessa was at a jewelry store, selecting some pieces with Karlie.

Seeing Tessa’s phone buzzing nonstop, Karlie asked, “Aren’t you going to check your phone?”

“No need to bother,” Tessa said, checking herself out in the mirror. “How does this diamond necklace look?”

“It looks amazing!” Karlie said admiringly. “Tessa, you’re so gorgeous, anything looks good on you!”

Tessa snapped up the necklace right away, then told the shop assistant to bring out all the trendiest pieces for her to check. Meanwhile, Karlie stood off to the side, totally green with envy.

In less than two hours, Tessa walked out with eight shopping bags. There were designer outfits, luxury purses, and a whole bunch of jewelry.

By her rough estimate, she’d already dropped at least a million. That was a whole year’s worth of her allowance. But Tessa showed no signs of slowing down.

“Tessa, aren’t you worried Cassian will give you a hard time because you spend so much?” Karlie asked.

Tessa let out a soft laugh. “Please, this is nothing. Cassian’s always been generous with me. This is just pocket change for

him.”

Karlie couldn’t help but feel envious. ‘Why is it that I never run into a dream guy like Cassian?‘ she thought to herself.

“Oh, by the way,” Karlie said, “I heard Liam’s back in town for that charity gala Mrs. Porter’s hosting. How come you’re not going?”

Tessa’s eyes dropped, hiding whatever she was feeling. “I’ve got to prep for the victory party. No way I can make it.”

Karlie took her word for it, but deep down, she couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed. She’d really been hoping to see

Liam at the event.

But Tessa was the only one who knew the real reason she wasn’t going to the charity gala. She hadn’t even received an invitation. The whole “busy with work” thing was just an excuse.

Perhaps it was to fill that void inside, but Tessa went on a shopping spree, buying way more than she needed. And at the end, with a casual wave, she snapped up the store’s crown jewel. It was an heirloom diamond necklace priced at nearly $3 million.

Karlie’s jaw practically hit the floor. ‘Talk about extravagant!‘ she thought.

After a whole day of shopping, the two of them ended up with loads of new stuff. Karlie scored plenty of goodies herself and even got Alina a designer purse.

When everyone was riding high, Jasper started blowing up the group chat again: [WTF? Has Aurelia lost her mind or something?]

Gideon was overseas on a business trip, so it should’ve been like one or two in the morning for him. But right at that moment, he suddenly chimed in with a single question mark.

He was usually the silent type, always lurking and never saying anything, but he chose that moment to speak up.

Tessa opened up the group chat, saw Gideon’s question mark, and smirked. ‘Not even trying to keep a low profile anymore, I see, she thought.

As soon as someone replied, Jasper started going off: [Just now, Aurelia spent 15 million at auction for a necklace. She’s got some serious cash!]

Gideon asked: [What does it look like?]

Jasper dropped a photo in the group chat. It was a top–tier imperial emerald necklace.

After checking it out, Gideon said: [Looks amazing. That’s a real collector’s piece.]

As soon as he finished, Jasper started freaking out again: [Holy crap, she’s at it again. She’s bidding on an antique sapphire necklace. The starting price is 50 million!]

[50, not 5 million! How does she even dare to go that high?

[Definitely a collector’s piece,] Gideon commented. He knew Aurelia well. If she was bidding, she was sure it was worth every

cent.

Tessa couldn’t help but feel a little bitter reading all this. She’d spent the whole day shopping and ended up spending just over 3 million. But Aurelia was throwing down tens of millions in a single go.

Tessa thought it over, then sent Jasper a private message, asking him for the auction catalog of the event that night. After she got it, she browsed through and found a ruby jewelry set that looked absolutely stunning.

She took a screenshot and sent it over to Cassian: [Cassian, this set is gorgeous!]

This was the priciest piece in the entire auction. If Tessa said she wanted it, Cassian would make sure she got it. She wouldn’t let Aurelia be the one in the limelight.

After sending Cassian the message, Tessa put her phone down and headed for a shower. By the time she finished her shower and skincare routine, two hours had already passed.

When she picked up her phone again, she saw Jasper blowing up the group chat. Cassian had just dropped a bid and snagged a ruby jewelry set at the auction.

The most expensive piece of the night. He dropped 300 million on it. Seeing this, Tessa curved her lips with a triumphant smile, totally satisfied with herself.

Tessa was taken aback for a moment. “Why do you say that?”

“I just looked it up online,” Karlie said, her eyes wide. “This ruby set has an incredible story behind it. An American tycoon searched the world to find this treasure to honor his late wife, and he named it ‘Eternal Love. The meaning is so romantic, it’s absolutely perfect for a proposal!”
