Chapter 323 

Tessa lowered her head, swallowing her pride, but it didn’t move Aurelia at all. 

Her eyes stayed cold, and her expression was distant as she fired back at Tessa, every word sharp and precise. 

“Your apology isn’t sincere. You only apologize because you’re desperate. From the moment this whole thing started, you’ve had plenty of chances and time, but you never did a thing. Even when Kyler kept coming after you, all you did was hide like 

a coward. 

“Now that you’re backed into a corner, you finally think of apologizing and admitting you were wrong. Don’t you think it’s a little too late for that? Do you think I’d accept such a cheap apology? Or do you think I’m some kind of pushover?” 

Tessa swallowing her pride and apologizing did take Aurelia by surprise, but that was it, nothing more. 

No matter how humble Tessa acted, it was all just crocodile tears. 

Ever since she came back, she’d been cashing in on her fancy degree, grabbing every benefit she could. 

Did she ever feel guilty at that time, even for a second? 

No, she didn’t. She only cared about the glory. 

She never even remembered that all her success was stolen from someone else. 

Someone like her didn’t deserve any kindness. 

Aurelia’s cold, merciless words made Tessa feel completely humiliated. 

Her eyes stung with unshed tears as she clenched her fists, struggling to keep it together, her lips trembling. “As long as you don’t hold me accountable for stealing your academic credentials, I’ll do anything you want.” 

Hearing that, Aurelia just gave her an icy smirk. 

“But to me, you’re not worth a damn,” she said. 

Aurelia’s words were so ruthless that Tessa’s face went as white as a sheet in an instant. 

She wobbled uncontrollably, looking so fragile that she might faint any moment. 

Aurelia couldn’t care less about Tessa’s weakness, refusing to waste another moment on her. Without hesitation, she turned on her heel to leave. 

A wave of panic hit Tessa. 

Almost instinctively, she reached out, trying to grab Aurelia. 

But as soon as Tessa’s fingers brushed Aurelia’s hand, Aurelia shoved her away. 

The next moment, Tessa fell to the floor. 

“Are you okay?” 

A familiar voice rang out. 

Tessa’s mind raced. She was just about to say she was fine, but when she realized the concern was for Aurelia, not her, she froze up.

Kyler looked at Aurelia with worry written all over his face, not even sparing a glance at Tessa, who was still on the ground. He asked urgently, “Did she do something to you?” 

Before Aurelia could even answer, Kyler’s face went cold. “I’m calling the cops right now.” 

Tessa’s face went ghostly pale, and she looked humiliated. 

She never imagined Kyler could be this cold, cutting her off without a second thought, not even considering all the times they’d been through together. 

He even took Aurelia’s side right to her face. 

He looked at her like she was beneath him, his eyes full of contempt. 

It was as if she were something filthy that he didn’t even want to touch. 

Kyler had come in with Stephen and the crew. Spotting Tessa trying to grab Aurelia from afar, he immediately rushed over to stand up for Aurelia. 

Right then, Stephen and the others arrived too. 

Some of them were familiar faces to Tessa. For instance, Craig Fergusson, whom she’d wined and dined with before. 

Stephen had brought along a bunch of big–name news outlets. One of them was a financial news reporter who’d already run stories on Tessa stealing Aurelia’s thesis. 

Stephen had called them in to get the latest scoop on the whole plagiarism mess. 

This time, Tessa really hit the jackpot in the worst way. She walked right into the crossfire and got herself caught red- handed. 

With their reporter instincts kicking in, the cameras were up in a flash, all pointed straight at Tessa and Aurelia. 

Tessa freaked out, throwing her hands over her face. “Stop it. Don’t film me.” 

Kyler ignored her frantic mess and turned to Aurelia. “What did she want with you?” 

Aurelia didn’t bother hiding it. “She came to apologize and beg for forgiveness.” 

Kyler scoffed, “If saying sorry fixed everything, why would we even need the law?” 

Stephen said, “Ms. Rowe, people have to answer for what they’ve done.” 

Even Craig, who once thought Tessa had real promise, just shook his head. “It shows that we can’t trust appearances. She’s a disgrace to the academic world.” 

The accusations kept coming, and Tessa’s mind was ringing so hard she could barely think straight. 

Everyone was looking at her with nothing but contempt and disgust. 

It was like she was a public enemy. 

Tessa, who’d always been arrogant, simply couldn’t handle crashing and burning like this. 

She scrambled to her feet, desperately shielding her face, wanting nothing more than to disappear. 

Just like Aurelia said, she’d go right back to hiding like a coward. 

But this time, Kyler wasn’t about to let her off the hook.

He stepped right in front of Tessa, his voice icy and merciless. “An hour ago, Whitvale School of Management announced they’re revoking your degree. They’re also holding you legally accountable for plagiarizing others‘ work and research. 

“And that’s not all. Mrs. William has gone public about your affair with Jonathan. There are tons of private photos, videos, and chat logs out there for everyone to see.” 

Tessa’s eyes filled with tears, turning red in a flash. But her lips were drained of all color, pale as death. 

“You disgust me,” Kyler spat, his eyes glinting with icy shards. 

Those few words stabbed straight into Tessa’s chest, leaving her reeling. 

All the color drained from her face. 

In that moment, it hit her harder than death ever could.

Kyler stepped back, and in a flash, the reporters closed in, boxing Tessa in with their cameras, forming an impenetrable wall around her. 

She was completely cornered now. There was no way out. 

Her mind was in total chaos, a million questions crashing around inside her, while the scene around her spun out of control. 

She fought back in anger and utter despair. 

Her hair and clothes were a mess. 

All that shine and glamour she once had were completely shattered, not a trace left. 

Someone in the crowd gave Tessa a rough shove, and she fell to the floor once more.. 

This time, she hit the ground so hard that the pain knocked the wind out of her. She couldn’t muster the strength to get back up. 

All that glory she’d stolen with her dirty tricks? Now, under everyone’s eyes, it turned into the sharpest blades, cutting her up piece by piece. Every bit of karma she’d planted was coming back to slice her open in public. 

She sat on the floor, looking totally wrecked, her nails digging so hard into her palms that they almost drew blood, hoping the pain would snap her out of her numbness. 

But she could only watch in misery as everything slipped away, way past the point of no return. 

Aurelia stood just a few feet away, totally composed and confident, fielding questions from the reporters like she owned the place. 

A reporter asked, “Ms. Corin, is it true that Whitvale School of Management has invited you back to enroll?” 

Aurelia nodded. “Yes.” 

“Are you planning to take the offer?” 

“Yeah, I am. I’m quite interested in Whitvale’s full–time MBA program,” Aurelia said. 

“But aren’t you also going to be working on your master’s with Professor Horton? Can you really handle both at the same time?” 

Before Aurelia could answer, Stephen jumped in with a cheerful grin, “That’s nothing for her. She’ll be starting at Whitvale School of Management by next spring at the latest.”
