Mandy was practically on edge. She hurried over to Liam and whispered, “Why is Cassian here? You don’t think he’s trying to rekindle things with Aurelia, do you?” 

Liam’s eyes darkened, his fingers tightening around his glass without him realizing. “I… probably not,” he replied. 

But even Liam himself didn’t sound sure. 

Honestly, one couldn’t blame Mandy for thinking that way. She definitely wasn’t the only one.

Their exchange was brief. 

After thanking him, Aurelia turned to Breon, who had come over with Cassian. 

“Thank you for coming to Regal Investment’s appreciation party, Mr. Youngkin,” she said. 

“Ms. Corin, you’re too kind. It’s an honor to be here,” Breon replied. 

Even Breon stuck around to chat with Aurelia for a bit. 

Cassian didn’t linger. As Aurelia and Breon continued their conversation, he quietly excused himself and left. 

Mandy let out a sigh of relief. ‘Guess I was overthinking it,‘ she thought. 

But she didn’t forget to nudge Liam, “Don’t slack off.” 

Liam looked helpless. “How am I supposed to hurry something like this?”

Honestly, Liam was just as anxious as Mandy was. 

But Aurelia didn’t give him even the tiniest chance. 

Liam felt pretty defeated. 

But after Mandy’s reminder, Liam made his way over to Aurelia, looking for another chance to chat.

But just as Liam started to chat, Wade showed up. 

Watching Aurelia talk with Wade, and seeing the look Wade gave her, the smile slipped from Liam’s face. 

Wade wasn’t shy about showing his admiration and interest in Aurelia. 

It was obvious to everyone what he was thinking. 

Liam couldn’t help but press his lips into a thin line. 

From afar, Tyson watched everything play out, feeling a kind of disappointment he couldn’t even put into words. 

Lately, he’d been drifting through life, numb. He was not even the thrill of his company going public, and his net worth skyrocketing could snap him out of it.

Mila still had no clue about what happened on the cruise, so she was still nagging Tyson to go after Aurelia, like always.

“We’ve got the advantage, so don’t drop the ball and let someone else swoop in. 

“If you chicken out, I’ll go and talk to her for you.” 

Tyson forced a smile, his gaze wavering. “Don’t go stirring things up. This is a big moment for her. Don’t get in her way.” 

“Fine,” Mila said, impatient but knowing when to back off. “Then step up and quit stalling.” 

“I know,” Tyson muttered. 

Gideon arrived late, with his fiancée by his side. 

It was Aurelia’s first time meeting Gideon’s fiancée. As everyone had been saying, she was strikingly beautiful with a hint of foreign charm. 

She looked young, with a fresh–faced, baby–soft complexion. 

Her smile was sugary sweet, and her eyes sparkled with pure innocence. 

“Gideon, you’re here,” Aurelia greeted him like old times, her gaze landing on his fiancée with genuine warmth. “Hello, Ms. Miller. Welcome to Regal Investment’s appreciation party.” 

Chloe Miller jumped right in, all smiles. “Looks like we have the same taste in dresses,” she said, her tone easy and friendly. 

It was only after Chloe pointed it out that Aurelia realized their dresses were almost identical. 

Both were a deep shade of blue. 

The only difference was in the fabric and the style. 

Aurelia’s dress had a lively, vibrant vibe. 

Chloe’s was a touch sweeter and girlier. 

Before Aurelia could even respond, Chloe blurted out in surprise, “Whoa, even our necklaces are almost matching. Yours has a bigger sapphire, but mine’s a bit smaller. 

“Still, Gideon gave it to me, so I love it. Isn’t it cute?” 

Aurelia chuckled. “Yeah, it’s lovely.” 

“You look gorgeous, too,” Chloe flashed Aurelia a playful grin. “Gideon says you’re a real powerhouse. I’m so impressed. Me? I’ve never been the brainy type. Math class always felt like it was in another language to me.” 

She was so bubbly that it was almost hard to keep up. 

Luckily, Gideon stepped in and reminded her that Aurelia had a lot of people to talk to tonight. 

Chloe stuck out her tongue. “Okay, let’s chat more next time.” 

As they walked away, Aurelia overheard Chloe asking Gideon to send her contact info to Aurelia. 

‘She’s quite the character. Honestly, she and Gideon suit each other, Aurelia thought, a smile tugging at her lips. 

Back in the day, whenever Jasper showed up at these parties, he’d make a scene, always stealing the spotlight, loud and flamboyant.
