Just then, another car pulled up behind them. Aurelia nodded at Brooke and was about to get in her car. 

Brooke hurried after her. “Ms. Corin, could I get your contact infor 

‘Sure,” Aurelia said, pulling out a business card and handing it to her. 

Brooke took the card with both hands, stood there watching Aurelia’s car drive away, and only then did she admire the business card again and again, like it was the most precious thing in the world.

“At the hospital. I’m here to pick up meds for that crazy woman,” Brooke replied. 

“Wait for me, Justin said. 

Justin swung by and picked up Brooke in no time. 

He took Aurelia’s business card and studied it like it was some kind of treasure, turning it over in his hands.

Brooke asked curiously, “Justin, is her last name pronounced ‘Corin‘ or ‘Coren‘? I checked online, and there are different ways to say it, so I’m not sure which one’s right.” 

Justin replied firmly, “Corin.” 

Brooke quietly echoed the name, “Corin.” 

As soon as they walked in, a wooden carving suddenly crashed right in front of them. 

Justin threw his arm out to block Brooke. The carving smacked into his arm with a heavy thud, then rolled onto the floor. 

The wood was so solid that it didn’t even crack. It just lay there on the floor, completely unscathed. 

The whole place was a total mess. 

The servant in charge hurried over and reported to Justin, “She’s gone off the rails again today! Throwing things everywhere! I couldn’t stop her!” 

Justin’s expression darkened. “Give her a sedative.” 

Half an hour later, Justin headed up to the third–floor room. 

The doctor had just finished administering a sedative to the woman lying on the bed. 

Whether it was the effects of the medication or simply that she had no strength left, the woman had finally stopped struggling. 

She lay motionless, her hollow eyes fixed on the ceiling, as if all life had drained out of her. 

She didn’t even blink. 

“You may leave now,” Justin ordered the doctor. 

Once the doctor was gone, Justin strode over to the bed, towering over the woman. “Have you had enough, Tessa?” 

But she didn’t respond at all, just lay there motionless. 

After a moment of silence, Justin spoke again, “Yvonne.” 

This time, the woman finally responded. 

She called out loudly, “I’m here!” 

Her gaze slowly came into focus, finally settling on Justin’s face. 

Maybe it was because Justin wasn’t wearing a lab coat that Tessa wasn’t as wary of him. 

She even begged him, “Please, get me out of here! I’m not insane! I was dragged here against my will! Please, help me! My

When Justin stepped out of the room, Brooke was waiting for him with a bowl of soup. “Justin, drink up. I put in some medicine, they’re supposed to be good for your kidneys” 

She followed him inside and didn’t relax until he finished the soup. “So, is that crazy woman knocked out now? 

“Yeah, Justin replied, rubbing his temples. 

He’d been swamped with so much lately, and it was really wearing him down. 

“So, is she actually crazy or what?” Brooke asked, genuinely curious. 

Justin shrugged, sounding indifferent. “She wasn’t crazy at first, but after being stuck in a place like that for years, anyone would lose it” 

Brooke rarely felt sympathy, but this time she did. “Guess I should be a little nicer to her. She’s honestly pretty pitiful
