“Our focus should be on the Sands family right now,” Jasper said bluntly. “They might try to get back at you
Seriously, safety should always come first, right?
But Cassian just waved it off. “Forget the Sands family. They wouldn’t dare mess with me. And if they did, maybe Aurelia would actually notice me.”
Jasper was left speechless.
‘No wonder people say being lovesick is a real illness. This guy seriously needs help. Jasper thought.
That short four–word message made Cassian feel hopeful again.
He didn’t sleep a wink all night and headed out to see Aurelia at five in the morning.
When he got there, it wasn’t even six yet.
Veyport always gets light early.
Aurelia was up early, having breakfast with Joey.
Halfway through breakfast, Aurelia got a call from Brooke.
Brooke said she wanted to invite Aurelia out for a meal to thank her for what she did for her back then.
Aurelia was about to turn her down.
But Brooke added, “My brother’s here too. He said he met you at a party before, but never got the chance to really talk to you.”
‘So we met at a party before? I don’t remember, Aurelia thought, and just asked, “What’s your brother’s name?”
“Justin Carr,” Brooke replied.
Aurelia raised an eyebrow.
‘What a coincidence,’ she thought.
She agreed to the invitation.
Just then, the Keith family’s butler came over and told her there was a Mr. Locke outside asking for her.
Aurelia instantly thought of Cassian.
After all, she barely knew anyone in Veyport.
“Just tell him I’m not here,” Aurelia said.
The butler said, “He must know you’re here, that’s why he’s come.”
Aurelia thought for a moment and said, “Just tell him I’m not seeing him.”
She didn’t want to have anything to do with Cassian right now.

The butler left, and Aurelia headed upstairs.
She grabbed her laptop and came back down, ready to get some work done.
The butler returned, holding a bag. He walked over to Aurelia and said, “Ms. Corin, Mr. Locke asked me to give this to you. He said to make sure you drink it while it’s hot.”
Aurelia opened her laptop, her face blank. “Just take care of it,” she said.
“Well…” the butler hesitated.
He seemed like he was about to say something more.
But Aurelia was already focused on her laptop, busy with work.
In the end, the butler could only do as Aurelia told him and got rid of it.
Aurelia didn’t even spare it a glance the whole time.
She worked straight through until noon. When she checked the time, she realized it was about time to head out. After greeting Joey, she went upstairs to change, then came back down and left the house.
Darren had made sure she had a dedicated driver and bodyguard.
As soon as the car pulled out of the gate, Aurelia noticed someone standing nearby.
It was Cassian.
He hadn’t left yet.
Aurelia couldn’t believe it.
Five hours had passed since dawn; he’d been waiting all this time.
Unbelievably, he was still there.
Her car had tinted windows, so he couldn’t see her.
Yet Cassian, as if he had some sixth sense, suddenly looked right in her direction.
Aurelia instinctively averted her eyes.
When she realized what she was doing, she couldn’t help but frown.
‘Why am I acting like I have something to hide?‘ she thought.
The car quickly drove past Cassian.
But Aurelia didn’t look back at him. She just kept her eyes on the road ahead, like it was the most natural thing in the world, just like every other time they’d let another chance slip by and just as she always believed in her heart.
Keep moving forward, never look back.
Justin hosted the dinner with a real sense of occasion. It was pretty grand.
Aurelia accepted the invitation mostly because she wanted to find out if Justin had any ulterior motives.

But during the meal, he only brought up things that happened on the cruise; he never mentioned Borealis or InquireMind.
So, all things considered, the dinner turned out to be quite enjoyable.
After saying goodbye to Brooke and Justin, Aurelia had just gotten into her car when her phone rang. It was Mia.
Mia asked when she was planning to head back to Ashmont.
Aurelia said she’d be back next week.
She had to attend the charity gala this Friday.
The charity gala was organized by the foundation Zofia established during her lifetime.
This year, MegaTech was the sponsor.
Whether as Zofia’s most trusted confidante or as the current head of MegaTech, Aurelia couldn’t miss it.
“Workaholic,” Mia teased.
“I’ll make the money, you just be the pretty one. Sweet deal, right?” Aurelia said with a grin.
Mia laughed. “Works for me!”
“How about you? How’s everything going?” Aurelia asked.
“I’m doing great!” Mia replied.
To prove it, she squealed with excitement on the other end. “You have no idea how healing Coconut Breeze Island is! I even learned how to go sea fishing. It’s seriously so much fun! Just a couple of days ago, I caught a bluefin tuna! How cool is that?”
Aurelia couldn’t help but smile at Mia’s infectious energy. “You’re awesome, girl! Next time, you have to show me your skills!”
“Absolutely!” Mia promised, patting her chest.
At the end, she sighed softly and said, “Aurelia, I’m really lucky to have you.
“You saved me, and Coconut Breeze Island saved me too. Right now, the world feels amazing. Anyone or anything that makes me unhappy can just get lost!”
“Coconut Breeze Island didn’t save you. You finally let yourself go there.”
Just like she always reminded herself, sometimes, one didn’t need to win; just walking away was enough.
“Yeah, if you love someone more than yourself, it’ll always come back to bite you,” Mia replied.
Mia had finally found her peace. She told Aurelia, “I’ve already reached out to Dudley and asked him to handle the divorce with Herbert.”
A relationship was like a game of poker.
Herbert thought he was holding both Jokers, convinced he had the whole game under control.
But he seemed to forget one thing.
