Leonie heard the call too and quickly stood up. “Herbert, I should go before Aurelia gets the wrong idea.”Â
But she had barely taken a few steps when she winced in pain.Â
Herbert hurried over to steady her, his brows furrowed. “Is your foot still not healed?”Â
Leonie’s eyes were a little red. “There were paparazzi waiting outside the hotel last night. I was afraid they’d make up stories, so I didn’t go to the hospital.Â
“I just used some ice in my hotel room. I thought it was fine, but maybe coming to see you made it worse, so it hurts again.Â
“Then stay here. I’ll take you to the hospital in a bit,” Herbert said right away.Â
“But what about Aurelia?” Leonie hesitated.Â
“Don’t worry about her,” Herbert said, pushing her gently back onto the bed. “Your injury comes first.”Â
Leonie quietly sat back down on the bed.Â
Just then, Mia and Aurelia showed up outside the room, knocking loudly on the door.Â
Herbert’s frown deepened. He really couldn’t stand Mia’s rowdiness.Â
After all, this was a hotel, a public place. If they kept it up, they might disturb the other guests.Â
So he hurried over to open the door.Â
Mia was just about to knock again when the door opened suddenly.Â
Herbert said with a frosty expression, “You’re going to disturb the other guests.”Â
Mia snorted, a smirk on her face. “Are you really worried about the guests, or is it just you that’s bothered?”Â
“What are you getting at?”Â
“Move,” Mia said, shoving him aside and barging right in.Â
As soon as she stepped inside, she spotted Leonie sitting on the bed.Â
The place had sofas, chairs, and even a carpet if one really needed somewhere to sit.Â
But Leonie went straight for the bed anyway.Â
She wasn’t even trying to hide it, and Herbert wasn’t even putting on a show anymore.Â
Even though Leonie looked perfectly put together, to Mia, it just made things look even more suspicious. The harder Leonie tried to cover it up, the more obvious it became.Â
And to make it worse, Leonie put on an innocent face. “Aurelia, what brings you here?”Â
Her tone and expression were a complete 180 from the cocky attitude she’d shown on the phone earlier.Â
Mia didn’t hold back. She stormed over and slapped Leonie hard across the face.Â

The force made Leonie’s head snap to the side.Â

Herbert’s face darkened, and he immediately snapped at Mia, “Mia, what do you think you’re doing? Making a scene and hitting people?”Â
He tried to step in and stop Mia.Â
But Aurelia and Zane moved in, one on each side, blocking his way like bodyguards.Â
Leonie covered her face, her eyes red as she looked at Mia, her voice full of grievance. “Aurelia, is there some misunderstanding? I can explain.”Â
Mia snapped, “Save your excuses.”Â
She raised her hand and slapped Leonie again.Â
Now Leonie’s face was perfectly symmetrical, thanks to Mia’s slaps.Â
Herbert, losing his cool, shoved Zane’s arm out of the way and yanked Mia back. “How long are you going to keep acting like this? When did you become this person? Look at yourself. Do you even care how you look right now?Â
“If the reporters catch this, they’ll twist the story again, and the Norman family will get dragged into your mess.”Â
Seriously, when one was speechless, one was just… speechless.Â
Herbert’s face was full of disappointment. “I always thought you were someone who knew how to handle things, someone reasonable. But now you’re freaking out over something so trivial.”Â
“Trivial? Herbert, are you out of your mind? I’ve been accused of being some sugar baby, and you call that trivial? Do you enjoy being made a fool of or something?” Mia was so furious that her whole body was shaking.Â
‘Shouldn’t I be the one who’s disappointed here?‘ Mia thought.Â
Herbert was clearly taken aback. “What accusation? Who’s accusing you?”Â
“It’s her!” Mia shouted, pointing straight at Leonie.Â
Herbert instinctively jumped to Leonie’s defense. “Maybe you got it wrong?”Â
Leonie started sobbing. “Aurelia, I swear I didn’t do it. You’re misunderstanding me. Why would I ever try to set you up?”Â
“Drop the act. Everyone in the industry knows you run those marketing accounts. Just open any account that’s been slandering me, and every single post before was singing your praises. Are you seriously that dumb?” Mia snapped.Â
“I really didn’t,” Leonie kept denying, tears streaming down her face even harder.Â
With acting skills like that, if she could pull it off in front of a camera, maybe she’d have landed a breakout role by now.Â
Seeing Herbert looking at her, Leonie’s tears flowed even harder. “Herbert, I swear I didn’t do anything to set up Aurelia. I don’t run any marketing accounts.Â
“Twitter is a total mess right now. Everyone has their own rabid fans, and they’ll spread rumors or fake news just to protect their idols. Besides, everyone knows Aurelia and I are rivals, so fan wars are basically inevitable.”Â
“You really didn’t do it?” Herbert asked again.Â

Chapter 395Â
Leonie shook her head, choking back sobs. “I really didn’t”Â
Mia didn’t hold back with those two slaps. She went all out,Â
Back when she was aiming for the fighter queen image, she’d gone through special fighting skills training, so her hands were seriously powerful.Â
Leonie’s cheeks were swollen on both sides, making her look downright miserable.Â
Herbert’s heart softened, and he stepped in front of Leonie to shield her. He gave Mia a cold look and barked, “Did you hear that? She didn’t do it.”Â
“You’d believe anything she says, even if it was total nonsense.” Mia was absolutely livid.Â
“They couldn’t scrape together a single working brain cell between them, Mia thought.Â
Zane, worried that Mia might blow a fuse, stepped in to persuade her, “Don’t bother arguing about this. If someone believes you, you don’t need to explain. If they don’t, nothing you say will change their mind.”Â
“Then show me the proof. If you don’t have any, you’re just slandering her. You owe her an apology,” Herbert snapped, a surge of anger rising within him.Â
He hated seeing Zane stand up for Mia.Â
‘What right does he have to defend Mia?‘ Herbert fumed.Â
Aurelia’s phone rang. She picked up and asked, “Are you here yet?”Â
After getting a clear answer, Aurelia’s expression relaxed. She turned to Herbert and said, “You want proof? You’ll have it in at second.”Â
Her gaze turned icy. “If we can prove that Leonie tried to frame Mia, then Leonie should go public, apologize, and quit the industryfor good. Just keep her head down from now on.”Â
Herbert’s brows furrowed. He really wasn’t a fan of what Aurelia was asking for.Â
He turned his gaze back to Mia, his voice icy. “Can we talk in private?”Â
“What’s there to talk about?” Mia shot back, clearly not interested.Â
Herbert, trying to keep things cool for the sake of their relationship, softened his tone. “This is between you and me. We don’t need outsiders getting involved.”Â
Mia laughed quietly.Â
What a joke!‘ she thought.Â
“And what about Leonie? Isn’t she an outsider, too?” Mia shot back.Â
Herbert’s brows twitched. “She’s your cousin. If her parents hadn’t adopted you, you wouldn’t even be here now. You shouldÂ
be thankful for that.”Â
That was the last straw for Mia. She raised her hand and slapped Herbert hard across the face. It was fast, fierce, and withoutÂ
hesitation.Â
“Herbert, the one who should be thankful is you! The Norman family owes me!” Mia snapped.Â

Leonie hadn’t expected Mia to slap Herbert as well. She quickly moved to his side, worry written all over her face. “Herbert, are you alright?”Â
Herbert’s cheek burned, and his heart hit rock bottom.Â
