Chapter 52 

‘If I remember correctly, Cassian had been on a business trip and was supposed to fly back today, Aurelia thought. 

She didn’t keep track on Cassian. She got the news because Miranda had asked about his habits for his business trip, including his preferred flights, hotels, and food. 

Miranda also asked when Cassian liked to come back, on the same day or the next day. 

After all, no one knew Cassian’s likes and dislikes better than Aurelia did. 

Miranda almost shed tears over the phone when she called Aurelia for help. 

She kept saying that she became Cassian’s temporary secretary because she had done a lot of bad things in her last life. 

Aurelia asked if Cassian had tried to find a new head secretary after she left. 

Miranda said no. The HR department had suggested a few candidates, but Cassian didn’t agree. 

Miranda gave her opinion that Cassian deliberately kept the position open. 

Most of her colleagues shared the same feeling, and they all knew for whom the position was reserved. 

Miranda had personally asked Aurelia if the latter would return to Honoria Capital. 

Aurelia made herself clear by saying, “That’s never going to happen.” 

‘It seems Cassian hurried here from the airport to dine with Tessa’s parents. How thoughtful! Truth is, he is always thoughtful of Tessa. Sadly, he never treats me like that,‘ Aurelia thought. 

A long time ago, Ella had learned that Aurelia had a boyfriend, so she subtly hinted that she wanted to meet Cassian. 

Aurelia spent ages for a good excuse to dissuade Ella. Ella was so persistent that Aurelia had to discuss the matter with Cassian. 

Aurelia still remembered every single of Cassian’s reactions in that discussion. 

Cassian turned stern in the face, and his eyebrows were deeply knitted. 

The impatience in his eyes was unmistakable. His tone was tinged with irritation. “Why bother to see me?” 

Hearing this, Aurelia in love got back to the real world. Wasn’t it common for lovers to meet each other’s 

parents? 

Sorrowful, Aurelia had been lukewarm about Cassian for some time.

Aurelia had bought the story because Cassian was at odds with his own father.

In the restaurant, Aurelia told Tyson her situation and held nothing back from him. She made it clear to him that there were better choices than her. 

Tyson firmly said, “I just want to team up with you. If you join a company, that’s the one I’ll work with. If you start your own company, I’m in. In short, I choose you and you only.” 

He went on, “Honestly, I’m glad that things with Honoria Capital didn’t pan out. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I signed the contract with Honoria Capital and then heard of your resignation.” 

Aurelia was deeply touched. Then, she made sure Tyson knew the challenges and obstacles ahead of them. 

Money was definitely the toughest nut to crack. All the seed money would soon be used up after the project got started. Once Aurelia and Tyson ran out of money, the project would wither on the vine. 

Then, all their efforts would become futile. Aurelia suggested to find new investors as soon as possible. 

Together with the new investors, she and Tyson would develop this project. 

This solution meant a lower upfront investment and the loss of partial interests. 

“I know little about business, but I have faith in your expertise. Let’s divide and conquer. You are responsible 

for looking for investors, and I focus on technology,” Tyson said sincerely and decisively. 

Hearing this, Aurelia felt both flattered and encouraged. After days of distress, she finally relaxed. 

“I hope we can work well together.” Aurelia shook hands with Tyson. 

“I am certain about that,” Tyson said.

Aurelia was in a good mood, but a killjoy popped up.

Tessa collected herself and then talked with Cassian with a smiling face. 

Her voice was much softer and sweeter than before. “Cassian, look who is here. Aurelia! What a coincidence!” 

Cassian expressionlessly cast a glance at Aurelia and Tyson, and the look in his eyes was cold. 

Like a spoiled girlfriend, Tessa clung to Cassian’s arm and slightly shook it. “Since they are here, why don’t we invite them to dine with us?”
