Tessa left the restaurant with Cassian, her heart bubbling with happiness. As they walked side by side, she teased him with a playful pout, “Cassian, you didn’t have to spend so much. We’re family. There’s no need to pick such a fancy restaurant for dinner.” 

Tessa really knew how to make Cassian feel good, always keeping things just right and never overstepping. 

Cassian was clearly pleased with how sensible Tessa was. “You deserve it.” His tone was noticeably softer than when he had talked about Aurelia earlier. 

Aurelia sat there in silence long after they were gone. 

Tyson paused for a bit before finally breaking the silence. “Ms. Corin, are you okay?” 

“Do I look not okay?” Aurelia asked 

Always the straightforward type, Tyson admitted, “Yeah, a little.” 

“I’m fine. Not dying.” Aurelia downed a large glass of ice water. 

She was upset, but not because of Cassian, but for the version of herself who once risked everything for love. 

In the end, the only person she let down was herself. 

The dinner ended because of Tessa’s arrival. Aurelia wasn’t in the mood to eat anymore, and naturally, neither 

was Tyson. 

He got up to settle the bill, but Aurelia stopped him. “I’ll get this.” 

“I can’t let a lady pay,” Tyson protested. 

“Don’t treat me like a stranger. We’ll have plenty more meals together in the future. You can pay next time,” Aurelia said with a grin. 

After a bit of persuasion, Tyson gave in. “Alright, deal. From now on, I’m paying for every meal.” 

When Aurelia went to the counter to settle the bill, a well–dressed middle–aged man also walked up to pay. 

He asked the staff, “Has the bill for the Arcadia Room been settled? If not, I’ll take care of it.” 

The staff checked and replied, “Mr. Locke has already paid.” 

The man nodded, and as he turned to head out, he happened to see Aurelia. He lingered for a beat, giving her another look before moving on. 

Aurelia was talking to the staff and didn’t notice him at all. She signed the receipt, picked up her bag, and left. 

But the middle–aged man stood there, hesitating for a moment. His eyes shifted from Aurelia’s retreating figure to the bill lying on the counter. 

‘Corin? How could there be such a coincidence?‘ he wondered, a flicker of surprise flashing across his face. After watching Aurelia get in the car and leave, Tyson fished out his phone and dialed someone up. 

The moment the call went through, he couldn’t wait to blurt out, “Mila, she is single now!” 

Then, realizing that he should make it clearer, he said, “I mean, Aurelia just broke up!” 

Mila was Tyson’s younger sister. 

Back when Aurelia was trying to secure Tyson’s project, she always dropped by his studio. 

At the time, Mianmian was in the middle of her high school entrance exam prep, overwhelmed by the pressure and starting to hate school. She had become withdrawn and emotionally fragile. 

Tyson was a straight–up science nerd who had no idea how sensitive girls could be at that age. 

He thought she was just going through a rebellious phase and even forced her to study harder. 

The pressure built up until, after a huge fight with Tyson, Mila found the sleeping pills he’d been prescribed for insomnia and swallowed a handful while he was out at a meeting. 

Aurelia happened to be at Tyson’s office right when it happened. She walked in and found Mianmian unconscious from the overdose. 

She shouted for someone to call an ambulance and immediately began performing emergency first aid. 

Realizing Mila had just taken the pills not long ago, Aurelia acted quickly to induce vomiting. 

When Tyson rushed back after hearing the news, Mila was violently throwing up. 

Aurelia didn’t mind the mess at all. She gently helped Mila clean up. 

Seeing that, something deep inside Tyson was shaken. That scene touched him more than words could say. 

Thanks to Aurelia’s prompt action, Mila was fine in the end. 

During the two days Mila stayed in the hospital, Aurelia stayed by her side the whole time, comforting her and helping her get back on her feet. 

It was then that Tyson finally realized the problem had been with his way of educating Mila. 

Later, Aurelia personally took Mila to see a psychologist and even tutored her in her studies. 

With Aurelia’s help, Mila slowly got better and eventually got into the high school she had always wanted. 

Mila adored Aurelia, treating her like a sister she could confide in and turn to. She told Aurelia everything, and naturally, she knew a few things about Aurelia too. 

That included things like Aurelia having a boyfriend and that her boyfriend was actually her boss.

That quiet affection of Tyson never escaped Mila’s notice. She often sighed over it, saying he was just a step too late, and maybe Aurelia just wasn’t meant for him. 

Tyson, being a proper gentleman, kept his feelings to himself once he knew Aurelia was in love with someone else. He always stayed respectful and never crossed the line. 

Earlier in the restaurant, when he saw Cassian with another woman and learned that Aurelia had resigned from Honoria Capital, he quickly figured out that they had broken up. 

The moment he realized it, he was thrilled and couldn’t wait to share the good news with Mila. 

When Mila got the call, she was lying on the top bunk in her dorm watching a drama. Hearing the news, she shot up in excitement, hit her head on the ceiling, and cried out in pain. 

But she didn’t care about the pain at all and kept yelling into the phone, “Then what are you waiting for? Go get her! I want Aurelia to be my sister–in–law!” 

Determined not to let Tyson down, Aurelia worked three sleepless nights to finish a flawless business proposal. 

Then she eagerly started reaching out to the investors she had met before. 

But before she made the first call, Aurelia was mentally prepared to be turned down. 

After all, she was starting from zero–no resources, no connections, and absolutely no one backing her up. There was no telling if anyone would bother to do her any favors. 

But reality turned out to be even harsher than she expected. She called dozens of investors, and none of them got back to her. 

Even so, Aurelia didn’t give up. She took her business proposal and went from one company to another, pitching her idea in person. 

After a few days of nonstop hustling, she was completely wiped out–her whole body numb and her legs feeling like they might fall off at any second. 

She had chugged so much coffee in different companies that just the thought of another cup made her want to gag. 

Aurelia kept telling herself, “Every beginning is hard. Starting a business is never easy. Stay calm and keep going.” 

After grabbing a quick bite at a café, she went to her next meeting according to her schedule with Darren 

Keith from Pione Investment. 

Darren was polite, unlike the others who stopped answering her calls the moment they heard she’d left Honoria Capital. 

After reading through Aurelia’s proposal, Darren’s expression showed genuine interest, but his attitude was

“Is there something wrong with the proposal, Mr. Keith?” Aurelia asked, her tone gentle and diplomatic 

Darren shook his head. “No, the proposal is perfect.” 

“Then what’s holding you back?” Aurelia asked, her voice steady but full of hope. 

“Do you know that Ms. Rowe from Honoria Capital has also started an Al project recently?” Darren asked. 

Aurelia replied honestly, “Nope, I didn’t know.” 

Darren said, “Mr. Locke and Ms. Rowe attended one of our business dinners not long ago. Ms. Rowe mentioned it there, and I remember it clearly.” 

Aurelia knew Cassian spoiled Tessa, but she never expected he’d indulge her to this extent. 

Cassian didn’t just take Tessa to those investor dinners, but he even let her pitch her own project to those people.
