Even though Cassian had a baseball cap pulled low over his face, he hog half of it. Aurelia recognized him instantly. 

Cassian stopped, looking at her from a short distance.

Sunlight filtered through the window, casting a warm, golden glow over his chest as it rose and fell gently in the shifting light. 

His lips moved slightly, as if he was about to speak. 

But Aurelia didn’t give him a chance to speak. She just walked off on her own, leaving Cassian standing there. 

She didn’t hesitate for a second, just as straightforward as always. 

She was so cold as if they were total strangers. 

Aurelia was perfectly fine with things ending up this way. 

He did his calculations, and she knew when to call it quits. 

From now on, they’d be strangers on different roads, with nothing left tying them together. 

Cassian just lingered there for a bit, staring after her, before he finally turned and walked away. 

On the court, Jasper kept getting wrecked by Gideon, losing game after game until he was so done with playing. 

“What’s taking Cassian so long? If he doesn’t show up soon, I’m gonna lose my shirt out here!” Jasper complained, totally fed

“I’ll go see what’s up,” Tessa said. 

After she left, Jasper sighed, a little envious. “It must be nice to have one like that.” 

After saying that, Jasper shot a nosy look at Gideon, who was this?” 

Gideon replied casually, “Doesn’t bother me.”

Gideon couldn’t be bothered to explain. He just pulled out his phone and shot Aurelia a message, asking how she was enjoying her new car. 

He knew she was probably at some dinner right now and might not even reply to him. 

But he sent it anyway. 

Then he just stared at his phone screen for a long time, waiting. 

While she was busy socializing, Aurelia glanced at her phone and shot back a quick, no–nonsense reply. 

[Pretty good.] She replied. 

Gideon, who’d been waiting for her reply, couldn’t help but smile when he saw her message. 

Jasper spotted the grin and leaned over, trying to sneak a look at Gideon’s phone.

Chapter 92 

He was itching to find out who could make Gideon grin like that. 

Gideon caught Jasper snooping and instantly turned off his screen 

Jasper, still dying to know what was up, couldn’t help but blurt out, “Something’s up with you!” 

Gideon kept his cool, totally unfazed. “Really?” 

“You have no idea how smitten you looked just now!” Jasper teased. 

Gideon just shrugged, not bothering to deny it. 

When Tessa caught up with Cassian, he was out on the balcony, lost in thought and smoking. 

The ashtray perched on the trash can beside him was littered with seven or eight cigarette butts. 

Tessa frowned, walked over, and asked, worried, “Cassian, is something bothering you?” 

Cassian’s voice was indifferent. “No.” 

“Then why have you been smoking so much lately?” Tessa pressed. 

“It’s just family stuff,” Cassian said, still distant. 

Tessa remembered Jasper saying Cassian and his father didn’t really get along, so she tried to comfort him. “Even if things are rough between you and Mr. Locke right now, maybe he cares about you in ways you haven’t noticed yet. Who knows, maybe someday you guys will get past all this.”

Cassian crushed out his cigarette, his expression unreadable, and said to Tessa, “I’ll go with you to meet Mr. Youngkin from NaviTech.” 

Tessa’s heart skipped a beat. 

She hadn’t expected Cassian to care so much about her. 

She hadn’t even told him anything about Breon. 

“How did you know?” Tessa asked, surprised. 

“Karlie mentioned it,” Cassian said gently. “Didn’t I tell you to let me know if you ever needed anything?” 

His concern made Tessa feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and her tone unconsciously took on a hint of sweetness, almost like she was being a little spoiled. 

“Why does Karlie tell you everything?” Tessa pouted. “Seriously, I told her not to bug you. I can handle it myself, you know.” 

Cassian grinned, “What’s wrong with leaning on me? I just don’t want you to have a hard time.” 

Tessa’s heart fluttered at his words, her smile lighting up her whole face. “Alright! From now on, I’ll tell you everything, just promise you won’t get sick of me!” 

Cassian replied, his voice indulgent, “Never.” 

When they walked back to the court, they were practically radiating couple vibes. so sweet and close. 

Jasper couldn’t wait to share the latest gossip. “You guys are finally back! I just discovered something really interesting!” 

Tessa grinned. “Oh? What did you find?”

“Looks like Gideon’s got a crush!” Jasper blurted out. 

Tessa gave Gideon a look that said she knew exactly what was up. 

Liam, ever the curious one, leaned in and asked, “Who is it? Is she cute? When are you gonna introduce her to us?” 

Gideon leaned back on the bench, sounding totally chill. “She’s gorgeous” 

“See? I told you there was something going on!” Jasper practically bounced with excitement 

Liam leaned in, grinning, “How gorgeous are we talking? Is she as stunning as Tessa?” 

“Definitely,” Gideon said, not missing a beat. 

Tessa froze for a second, her grin fading away. 

Liam leaned in, grinning. “Man, now I really want to meet her.” 

Gideon just stretched out lazily. “It’s not the right time yet.” 

After that, no matter how much Jasper and Liam kept pestering him for details, Gideon wouldn’t say another word. 

“Cassian, seriously, aren’t you even a little bit curious?” Jasper couldn’t help but ask, seeing Cassian totally ignoring all the gossip. 

Cassian just shrugged, his voice cool and deep. “What’s there to be curious about? Talk to me when he actually brings her 

over.” 

Gideon chuckled, a hint of mischief in his smile. “Trust me, I will.”

Early Monday morning, Aurelia showed up with Tyson to meet Bruce. 

Bruce brought Liam along. 

With Bruce there, Liam dropped his usual arrogance and even managed to be polite to Aurelia. 

But Aurelia stayed as cool and distant as ever. her attitude toward him hadn’t changed one bit.. 

Liam couldn’t help but feel like he’d brought this on himself. 

If he’d known it’d come to this, he never would’ve treated Aurelia so harshly back then. 

Even Tyson, who was usually slow on the uptake, could tell something was off. He texted Aurelia on the sly. 

[Do you have a problem with Liam] Tyson asked. 

Aurelia shot back, [Yep.] 

Tyson said, [If this makes you uncomfortable, we can just drop it. Seriously, it’s totally fine if you don’t want to go through with this.] 

Tyson always put her first, always looking out for her. 

Aurelia wasn’t the kind to let her feelings mess with her judgment. 

Working with the right people meant smoother teamwork and better results, which was what really mattered for the project.

When it came to business, her personal grudges didn’t matter at all. 

That was what it meant to separate work from personal stuff. 

It was something she’d learned from Cassian. 

It was a pity that Cassian had completely forgotten where to draw the line between business and personal matters. 

Aurelia had set up an afternoon meeting with Breon from NaviTech to talk business, but he called her last minute. something came up and he couldn’t make it. 

Bruce took the opportunity to suggest that Liam invite Aurelia and Tyson out for dinner. 

Since they’d be discussing the partnership in depth later, it was important to show them proper respect. 

Just as the three arrived at Lunar Table, they ran into Cassian and Tessa, who were also there for dinner. 

Liam took the initiative to say hi to them. 

Tessa’s attention was fixed on Tyson. 

She’d already had her headhunter try to recruit him, but Tyson shot them down. 

But she wasn’t ready to give up just yet. 

“Hey, since we bumped into each other, wanna join us?” Tessa said, turning to Liam. 

Given how tight she was with Liam, she was sure he wouldn’t say no. 

That’s why she went ahead and asked. 

Liam glanced over at Aurelia. 

It was clear he wanted to see what she thought. 

He already wasn’t on good terms with Aurelia, and if he ignored her opinion and agreed to dinner, the whole partnership would definitely go off the rails.
