Rebecca’s POV
As we walked toward the parking area, I could feel the tense atmosphere beginning to ease. The funeral had gone more smoothly then expected, despite Ronald’s obvious hostility. Dominic seemed pleased with my performance, his pride flowing through our bond.
“You did well, he told me quietly, his hand on my back. “Your behavior today is very much in line with the image of a future Luna.”
I was about to respond when my phone suddenly vibrated. I quickly pulled it out, my heart dropping as I read the alert.
“What is it?” Dominic immediately asked, his body tensing.
“It’s the security system at home,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “Someone is trying to override our security codes.”
Dominic’s expression darkened as he pulled out his own phone, quickly contacting Marcus: “Increase protection for Lucas immediately. Someone’s trying to breach the villa’s security system.”
The thought of someone threatening our baby sent a wave of protective fury through me. I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm and focused as Dominic had taught me.
“Where’s Raymond?” Dominic suddenly asked, scanning the parking lot with narrowed eyes.
I looked around, then pointed toward the distance. “Isn’t that our car? But I don’t see Raymond.”
We moved quickly toward the vehicle, and as we approached, I saw Raymond lying motionless on the ground beside it. There was a pool of blood forming around his head, his face deathly pale.
“Raymond!” Dominic dropped to his knees, carefully checking his condition. “He’s been attacked–blunt force trauma to the head.” He gently turned Raymond’s head, revealing a deep gash that was still bleeding profusely. “This was done recently, he’s still bleeding.”
The metallic scent of blood hit my senses, making my stomach turn. I crouched down to check Raymond’s phone, which had fallen a few feet away, finding a map of the parking lot displayed on the screen, with all important werewolf vehicles marked.
“What does this mean?” I asked, my throat tightening with anxiety as I handed the phone to Dominic.
“This is a coordinated action targeting the Silver Moon Shadow Pack,” Dominic replied, his voice tense as he quickly used his handkerchief to apply pressure to Raymond’s wound. He immediately sent a warning to his father through their mind link.
Suddenly, I caught an unfamiliar scent. “Someone’s coming,” I whispered, my enhanced senses picking up something distinctive. “I can smell silver.”
Three figures disguised as security personnel approached us from different directions, their movements precise and threatening. I could tell these weren’t regular guards–something in their posture and the way they scanned the area spoke of combat training.
“When I say run, you run,” Dominic told me through our mind link.
But I wasn’t about to leave him facing three attackers alone, especially with Raymond bleeding and vulnerable. “I’m not leaving you, Dominic. We fight together.”

I shifted my body into the defensive stance Emily had taught me during our training sessions, feeling my wolf awakening within me. The first attacker suddenly lunged forward, a silver–gleaming dagger aimed straight at Dominic’s chest. Before Dominic could react, I moved instinctively, my body memory taking over. I quickly sidestepped, grabbed the attacker’s wrist, and used his own momentum to trip him, following with a precise chop to the nerve point in his neck. He went down, his weapon clattering to the ground.
Dominic gave me a surprised look but immediately turned to face the second attacker. His movements were lightning–fast as he grabbed the man’s throat, lifting him off the ground.
“Who sent you?” Dominic growled, his voice filled with Alpha power and command.
The attacker struggled, fear flashing in his eyes, but refused to speak. Suddenly, I caught a glint of reflection from the corner of my eye- the third attacker was throwing something at me.
“Dominic, watch out!” I barely called out when Dominic had already moved with incredible speed, positioning his body between me and the incoming weapon. A silver throwing knife struck his arm, causing a hissing burn and a pained growl from Dominic.
Seeing him injured, something snapped inside me. A rage and protectiveness I’d never felt before swept through my body. I felt my nails lengthening into sharp claws, my teeth becoming pointed as I lunged at the third attacker with a speed that surprised even me.
I tackled him to the ground with a flying leap, my claws digging into his shoulders, eliciting a scream. “Who sent you?” I growled, my voice no longer my own but a feral snarl.
