Dominic’s POV
Our eyes locked, a silent communication passing between us that went beyond words. I could feel her relief, her lingering fear, and underneath it all, her fierce love. She didn’t need to say anything I could read it all in her eyes, in the way her hand remained protectively on my arm, in how her body positioned itself between me and the direction our attackers had fled.
My father approached, inclining his head respectfully to Rebecca. “Perfect timing, Rebecca. Your intervention was… most appreciated.”
My mother joined us, her usually critical gaze softening slightly as she looked at Rebecca. “Indeed. Quick thinking.”
Rebecca nodded acknowledgment, but her attention never fully left me. Through our bond, I could feel her assessing my condition, her energy already reaching for mine, trying to soothe the silver burn spreading through my arm.
Before we could say more, I felt Rivera’s presence in my mind again. “Plan successful, Alpha. All four vehicles followed the decoy to the warehouse. We have them surrounded and contained.”

Relief flooded through me. “They took the bait,” I told my family. “Rivera and Johnson have them trapped at the warehouse.”
“Any casualties?” my father asked immediately.
I relayed the question through the pack bond, and Johnson responded this time. “Three injuries on our side, none fatal. Four hostiles in custody, all alive for questioning.”
“Excellent work,” my father said when I shared this information. “Your strategic thinking is maturing nicely, son. You’re developing the mind of a true Alpha.”
The praise warmed me, but I was more concerned with what came next. The silver poison was spreading visibly through my arm, lines tracing the path of my veins like small rivers of pain.

“Father, please take Mother back to the Sterling mansion,” I said decisively. “Coordinate with the pack elders and ensure everyone is safe. I’ll handle the interrogation at the warehouse.”
My father studied me for a moment, then nodded. “The entire pack will need reassurance after today’s events. I’ll address the elders‘ concerns.” He turned to my mother. “Marianne?”
She was looking at my arm with evident worry. “That silver wound needs immediate treatment, Dominic. The poison is spreading toward your heart.”
“I’ll take care of him,” Rebecca said firmly, already taking my hand in hers. “I can help.”
My parents exchanged a meaningful look before my father spoke again. “Very well. We’ll return to the mansion through the forest route.” His lips quirked in a rare show of humor. “I’ve had enough of cars for one day.”

Once they were gone, Rebecca immediately focused on my arm. “The poison is spreading fast,” she said, her voice tight with concern as she examined the dark lines now reaching toward my shoulder.

“No, it’s not.” She took my hand in both of hers, het expression determined. “Focus on our bond, Dominic. Feel my energy and let it flow into you.”
Without questioning her, I closed my eyes, trusting her completely. Our bodies swayed closer together, foreheads almost touching. creating an intimate circle of energy between us. I could feel her breath against my face, steady and rhythmic, guiding my own breathing to match hers.
I did as she asked, concentrating on the golden thread that connected us. I visualized our bond as a pulsing line of light between us. As 1 focused, I could feel Rebecca’s energy warm, vibrant, and healing reaching for mine.
