Aiden’s POV
The silence stretches between us tight enough to hum. Then–sofabric whispers against the floor. I glance down. Lace, Black. The kind thats meant to be seen for half a second and remembered for hours.my fingers twitch before i can stop them the delicate fabric cool against my skin.
Its almost weightless smooth as water running over my knuckles.
A corner of my mouth lifts. “Well,” i murmur the words rougher than i intend, “didnt peg you for the lace and secrets type.”
Taylor goes still.
her eyes snap to mine wide and startled then to whats in my hand. olor floods her cheeks giving a deep vivid red look thats creeping all the way to her ears. For a second she looks like shes forgotten how to breathe.
“You” she stammers closing the space between us in two sharp steps.her hand shoots out snatching the lace from my grasp. Her fingers brush mine its warm quick and something spark low in my chest before i can shut it down.
She glares up at me eyes blazing. “Youre unbelievable.”
i arch a brow fighting a smirk thats threatening to break through. unbelievable or just observant?”
her jaw tightens. The blush on her face deepens as her lips pressing together like she is holding back a string of words that might scorch the very air between us.
“youre impossible,” she spits her voice shaking but not with fear but something sharper something hotter.she spins on her heel and storm toward the bathroom muttering under her breath.
the door slams a second later and Im left standing there with the ghost of her warmth still clinging to my fingers and a grin i cant quite shake tugging at the corner of my mouth.
The bathroom door slams and seconds later the shower roars to life the sound almost drowning out my low chuckle., i drop down onto the couch shaking my head. For a moment the humor lingers until it doesnt.
because as soon as i pick up my phone reality smacks harder than Her thrown
T–shirt ever did. My screen lights up like a siren–Twitter exploding with chaos.
Notifications pour in, hundreds of them stacking faster than I can read. Headlines, screenshots, hashtags–Dylan’s name
everywhere.
“BREAKING: Leaked photos show Dylan Walker with a minor.”
“#CancelDylanWalker trending #1 worldwide.”
“He’s scum. Disgusting. Unforgivable.”
I swipe through the feed, pulse tightening with every new post. Videos dissecting the evidence Taylor uploaded. Fans posting crying emojis. Others posting memes, outrage, fury.
In less than fifteen minutes, Dylan Walker–the guy who built his rand on being “clean–cut and relatable❞—is being torn apart by the same public that once worshipped him.
His PR team’s statement appears next–sterile and predictable.
“We are aware of the allegations circulating online regarding Mr. Walker. Our team is currently investigating the incident and reviewing his position within our company.”
Translation: they’re about to drop him. Hard.
i scroll faster the blue light washing my face in the dim bed room.in still patters against the window outside softer now but steady.,It feels like the world is exhaling after a long held breath chaos in motion justice served through a glowing screen.

Taylor did this.
the sound of water stops and moments later she reappears wrapped in a towel, her damp hair dripping over her shoulders. She’s rubbing it dry when I say, “You might want to see this.”
she hesitates but went to change and come back then pads closer er bare feet whispering against the floor. “What is it?” I tilt the phone toward her. “T*****r. You broke the internet.”
she lean over my shoulder the scent of her shampoo something citrusy and faintly sweet mixing with the leftover scent of rain.. her eyes scan the screen darting back and forth as her expression shifts from confusion to surprise and then something sharper. Satisfaction.
