105 The Devil’s Lair

I moaned, biting into the pillow as the cool ointment smeared around my throbbing ass in circular motions. This hurts far worse, and I wasn’t sure I could sit without crying like a cd. The drive back was torture for me, and I have

never been in so much pain.

1

Ares took out his frustration on me, though I

don’t blame, since I pushed him.

I clenched the pillow tighter when Ares massaged my ass cheeks, feeling a biting ache rather than comfort. It felt like spikes were eating their way through me.

Does it hurt, baby?”

I angled my head to glare at him, and he was smiling brighter than I had ever seen, dimples on full display.

105 The Devil’s Lair

Why does the devil look adorable? Maybe there was a glitch in the system or something.

You didn’t go easy on me,I grumbled.

Ares showered kisses on my ass before he fr me, dropped the ointment on the nightstand, d rose to his full height. He was still in his threepiece suit, but the tie was off.

I was still dazed by the words he told me in the change room. I said nothing back to him. How could I? I thought Tori was the only one who could hit me with a reality check, but I thought

wrong.

I’m screwed, and I mean screwed, screwed because it took spanks to make me realize how stupid I was for terminating the sex contract.

What was the use when he already had me right where he wanted me? And I loved every second

of it.

105 The Devil’s Lair

:

I just have to keep Dr. Miller’s words in mind when the time comes. But for now, the thought

of submitting myself completely to Ares King has never been more enticing.

Ares walked to the door, throwing a look ove

shoulder, and said. Come with me.”

My heart skipped a bit, and I didn’t need to think twice because I was already crawling out of bed, groaning as my butt ached with just simple movements. Finally, I was successfully on my feet, just in my blouse, as I followed Ares out of my room, irresistibly pulled.

My pulse quickened when we got to a black door at the end of the lobby. Aresroom. I never thought the day would come, but here we are.

Ares inserted the black key and unlocked it, prying the door open. He waited for me to walk through it, and I did, feeling like it was the entrance to the devil’s lair.

105 The Devil’s Lair

The instant I was inside, the lights flickered on automatically, and my mouth parted in awe. It was so spacious and big, even having stairs leading to a second floor, making it appear more

like a loft.

The floortoceiling glass walls surrounded the space, revealing Midnight City’s skyline. The ceiling above was also glass, reflecting the sky.

At the center, just beneath the glass ceiling, sat a wide bed dressed in deep gray sheets and soft pillows, resting on a large pale rug, subtle lights glowing from beneath, giving a warm, intimate

feel.

The walls were made of dark stone, a modern fireplace burning quietly near the window. There was minimal furniture covering the rest of the space, low sofas, and coffee tables.

What caught my attention more was the outdoor balcony, where there was a pool table and plants.

105 The Devil’s Lair

Everything was neatly placed as expected, and not a single item was out of place.

It gave the same vibe as his office, blank and bland. No pictures, just your typical luxury bedroom with no personal attachments.

Check the drawers.”

I flinched at his voice before walking to the builtin drawers. They weren’t visible, and only by pressing against the sensors could you tell there was one. I was familiar with it because he had one like this in his office where he kept important

files.

I almost tripped when the large drawers opened.

What in the world? Okaydeep breaths, Catherine deep—There’s no way I could breathe after seeing this!

My wild eyes observed the gags, blindfolds, and handcuffs on display like I was in some kind of

museum. They were all in red, too.

Am I tripping?

How many women have you brought in here for this? The question left me faster than I co

think them through, a twisted feeling gras, my entire body.

I pressed the sensors, and the drawers retreated, looking over to Ares as if demanding some sort of explanation.

There was a look on his face that I couldn’t

describe. Delight? I can’t tell.

You’re talking about a third party.”

Just answer me.”

Ares came towards me as he spoke. None. This my space, and I never let anyone in until you.”

What are you trying to say?”

Everything was made for you.”

S

105 The Devil’s Lair

WWhat?

I was speechless momentarily before I found it in me to speak. You’re lying.”

Am I?”

He’s not. Because I knew how conscious he was

about his personal space, he may have let someone in his living room or office, but his bedroom? I don’t think that’s ever possible.

Are you saying you planned all this after the

contract?”

I mean, he was very capable of something like that. However, the thought of Ares King going out of his way for something like this was…

unbelievable.

Check the closet.”

My eyes veered to it immediately, legs already moving before I could think. I pushed open the

double doors.

105 The Devil’s Lair

It was huge! But it wasn’t the perfectly kept suits and clothes that could dress an entire city or the glasstopped drawers of watches and ties that held my attention.

It was the separate section, just at the right ide, a collection of lingerie and nigties, lined up, everything designed to make a woman feel sexy.

The glasstopped drawers had a collection of garters, another was designed collars, made mostly of lace and pearls.

I rested my hands on the glass, eyeing everything, and clearly, there was an elephant in the room to address.

Ares was leaning against the doorway, and I could finally describe the look on his face that I couldn’t tell before.

It was a possessiveness that flickered in those cold blue eyes, unlike anything I have ever seen before.
