86 Heat CrisisÂ
“Not there,” Ares murmured, his masculine voice making my legs weak.Â
“W–Where then?”Â
“Your pussy.”Â
I stopped breathing for a moment.Â
“D–Down there? You mean put your lips there?” I asked with wide eyes.Â
Was he into things like that?Â
I thought men don’t like stuff like that. Dan never liked it either and claimed it was a normal thing for all men.Â
That lying bastard. 2Â
“Yes.”Â
That one word of reply made heat curl through my skin until it wasn’t the sun burning through me. It was hotter, and I was sweating in all the wrong places.Â
I might melt into a puddle if I don’t start speaking. What am I gonna say?Â
“CAT!”Â
I jumped, and my phone fell out of my grip.Â
“Whoa! Why so jumpy?” Tori asked from a distance. “Are you okay?”Â
“Y–Yeah!” I crouched to get my phone.Â
“Well, come taste these. They are amazing!”Â
“I–I’ll be right there!”Â
I dusted my phone before tapping against the screen. It’s off. I didn’t charge the damn thing!Â
“Sorry about that, but my voice really wasn’t that loud,” Tori said, coming close. “What happened to your phone?”Â
I wish I could tell her it had nothing to do with that.Â
“It’s dead. I’m gonna go charge it.”Â

“Like right now?”Â
I rose to my full height. “Sorry…”Â
I desperately want to continue that talk with Ares.Â
“It’s okay, Timothy is actually really sweet. He tells good jokes, too.Â
“Timothy?” I looked at the man waving at us, the same person who was gathering apples in the baskets.Â
“Maybe I can woo his apples”Â
“Behave!”Â
She rolled her eyes. “I should be using that word for you. You’re the one who’s having aÂ
heat crisis.”Â
“I’m not having a heat crisis,” I countered.Â
“Of course you’re not. Just a simple normal heat”Â
“Ugh! I’ll be right back!”Â
“Don’t take too long.”Â
“I won’t! Oh, and the dresses are here.”Â
“Really?”Â
I was already walking back to the building, and when I looked behind, Nico followed me with his hands buried in his pocket, keeping close even as I quickened my steps.Â
I’d have so much preferred Reed following around than that idiot who wouldn’t stop smoking in this heat.Â
It didn’t take too long, and I’m back in the room. The moment I opened the door, I expected to see Ares, but the room was empty.Â
So he wasn’t watching from our room then. Sly devil.Â
I quickly plugged my phone in before I went to the wardrobe. Wow!Â
There are so many dresses and sandals! And they all had tags, which meant Ares went on a shopping spree for them.Â
The timing I requested wasn’t enough to stack this, so he made plans before I asked.Â

I smiled, eyeing each of them, all my exact size–different colors, lengths, and styles, all so pretty, and definitely within my taste range.Â
I wonder how he knows so much about it. Did he do some sort of review about me after the contract? Maybe I’ll ask him, but first I need to shower because I’m stinking.Â
After a quick shower, I wore one of the dresses. A yellow one that was light and free, stopping just above my knee length. I tied the knot on the neckline, and no matter how much I did, my boobs kept begging to be set free. With one last adjustment, I deemed it decent enough. I’m not about to go around flashing my babies at everyone.Â
I was tying my hair up in a ponytail when I heard voices.Â
It was muffled at first, but in the passing second, it got loud.Â
“Get lost!”Â
That was Nico’s voice, and he sounded like he was quarreling with someone. I walked to the door and yanked it open.Â
All eyes fell on me. It wasn’t just Nico, but three other random men I had never seen before, and then they gave way for Isaac to step forward like the leader amongst them.Â
He was still as scary–looking as he was that day, carrying his shoulders up like everything else was beneath him. Black eyes devoid of life.Â
“Milady, you should go back inside your room,” Nico said in a far too serious tone, a heavy contrast to how carefree he spoke most of the time.Â
“She came out just in time. Saved me plenty of trouble dealing with your high ass,”Â
Isaac said.Â
“Well, this high ass is gonna kick yours if you don’t get going.”Â
Isaac scratched the back of his clean–cut, faded hair. “Are you threatening me?”Â
“What do you want?” I asked, cutting in on their heated talk.Â
Isaac’s eyes fell back to me, and I felt like bolting.Â
“He wants to see you.”Â
“He? You mean Ares‘ dad? Why? I see no reason why I should see him again.”Â
He blinked at my words as if he didn’t expect me to ask that and just follow like a dummy. “Are you questioning me right now?”Â

“Yes, are you above that?”Â
Isaac huffed in disbelief, then he licked his bottom lip and said. “I like them feisty.Â
You’re gonna put up so much fight until the fire burns out.” He grinned. “That’s always my favorite part.”Â
Goosebumps rose on my skin, but somehow I stood my ground, not wanting to be intimidated by him. Only one person gets to do that.Â
“Watch it…” I warned, and I could feel Nico’s gaze snapping to my side profile.Â
Isaac chuckled deeply. “She has a mouth on her, too.” He rubbed his jawline. “I can put it to good-”Â
I slapped him, the sound echoing around the hallway. Shit! My hand moved faster than my words.Â
Slowly, he turned his neck, and a darkened look overtook his eyes, nostrils flaring.Â
Uh–oh!Â
“Grab the bitch.”Â
His men moved, and Nico reacted fast, pulling out twin gold guns from his shoulder holster, and they froze.Â
“One more step and I’ll blow your brains out. Don’t make me do that. I don’t want milady to see what brains you morons have.” 2Â
