“Are you ok back there, Isla?” Simon glanced at me from the rear-view mirror. I pursed my lips together and nodded. 

I was going to be simply fine. 

My mother was free from pain now and my father. 

I could not help but feel a little relieved that she was at peace. 

Uncle Ed would have been told about mother by now and I hoped that he knew that I was on my way back to Eclipse. 

That place was my home. 

I had never felt at home at Pembroke. 

The thought of seeing Zara soon made me smile and I looked out of the window at the trees and open road. 

It would not be long. 

We drove in silence most of the way there until Simon decided that it was an enjoyable time for a quick pit stop but I think he secretly craved the idea of a greasy fry up as much as I did. 

“Excuse me, Miss?” I turned around in my seat to see a young woman around thirty years old sitting alone and smiling but she was staring at Simon like he was the only one that she could see. 

He looked up at immediately mumbled the words mate. 

I almost fell out my seat in shock. 

Was this for real? 

Simon had found his mate and wow; she was beautiful with long black curly hair and these big bright blue eyes. She looked elegant in the polka dot 

dress she wore. 

“Oh wowed.” I whistled as Simon jumped from the seat opposite me to go to his newly found mate. 

“Mate.” She exclaimed not taking her eyes off him and vice versa. It was a crazy but lovely thing to witness. 

“I guess you will want to leave now then.” I grinned and shook my head in amusement as Simon led her out the small cafe to the car. I hurried after them not wanting to be forgotten and left behind. 

“My name is Jennifer. I am from the Blue Moon pack. I do not live there anymore though. I guess you could say I am a rogue.” She spoke softly but Simon did not seem to be put off by her admission. 

They were holding hands and staring at each other with such lovingness. 

“Are you his little sister or Summat?” Jennifer asked me to glance my way and looking me up and down. 

I shook my head and laughed. “No, he is from my old pack, Pembroke. He is just taking me back home to Eclipse.” I explained and noticed the smile instantly drop from her face. 

“You are from Pembroke? Did I hear that correct?” She stuttered and pushed Simon away from her which caused him to growl in confusion. 

I nodded and frowned that indeed she had heard me right. 

“What is the problem?” Simon demanded to know looking like he might get angry.

Jennifer avoided his gaze and stared at the floor. 

“It’s where my sister’s mate is from, or the male she believed was her mate when he got her pregnant then just disappeared.” She sighed shaking her head in disbelief. 

My ears pricked up right away 

I exchanged glances with Simon who was clearly thinking the same thing as me. 

It must be Daniel 

He was an idiot! 

But I thought that he had been forced back to that pack since he was not allowed back to Pembroke. 

“What was his name?” Simon said and Jennifer thought for a moment before opening her mouth and saying the one name that I dreaded to hear. 

Daniel 

“He’s, my brother.” I said through clenched teeth. 

Jennifer gasped in shock and Simon held her in his arms worried that she might fall over or something. 

“Your brother?” She repeated and I nodded. 

“Unfortunately, my family is one big mess. That is why I left Pembroke. I am going back to Eclipse where I am happy. Simon, please drop me off there. I need to see my uncle Ed.” I got into the car and waited for them to also get in. 

Simon hesitated when he started the car up. 

“Isla, are you sure you want to go back to Eclipse? We could go back to Pembroke and sort all of this out properly. “He suggested but I was horrified by that idea. 

“I would much rather eat shit than return to that joke of a place.” I grumbled. It was the last place that I ever wanted to be again. 

He nodded without another word and set off for the last part of the journey to Eclipse.
