Upon hearing this news, Adelaide was taken aback. 

She glared at him through gritted teeth and said, “Are you 

shameless?” 

Spencer sighed, “Adele, I had no choice. I couldn’t just stand by 

and watch Reginald play you like a fiddle.” 

Reluctantly, he finally admitted, “I knew you still liked Garrett, 

right?” 

Adelaide didn’t bother to talk anymore, she pushed him away, 

got into the car, stepped on the gas, and drove off. 

Spencer stood still calmly until the tail lights were completely 

out of sight, then he turned around and got in the car. 

He took out his phone and kept using the bank app. 

I kept transferring money until it said Today’s limit reached. 

I was waiting at the traffic lights in Adelaide, and my phone 

kept making ding ding sounds. I was puzzled, so I picked it up

“Yeah, I’m going to ask for leave now” With that, she got up and 

went to find Nathan 

Nathan wasn’t surprised when she came over he took the 

initiative and said, “Ms. Pierce, just go straight in, Mr. Thorton is 

pretty free right now” 

This morning Reginald didn’t show up at the company, he and 

Nathan arrived half an hour ago.

“If you don’t see Mr. Thorton, he’s probably in the back room, 

just go straight in” 

Adelaide hesitated for a moment, then entered the inner room.
