“Is that Adelaide?” Cierra Schmitt sounded tired and weak. 

Adelaide’s heart skipped a beat, she had a bad feeling. 

“It’s me, Mrs. Schmitt.” 

“Adelaide, come take a look at your teacher for the last time.

Adelaide nodded heavily, “Okay, teacher.”

teacher said she was lying.

sorry, I lied. I’m not doing well, not at all.” 

Anderson looked at her with heartache, feeling like a thread of 

air.

During the half hour with the teacher, Adelaide was talking to 

herself the whole time, and Anderson had his eyes closed most 

of the time. 

She walked out of the room, she went downstairs with Cierra. 

“Mrs. Schmitt, you said you contacted me, why have I never 

received any messages?” 

“Didn’t Garrett tell you?” Cierra asked. 

Adelaide shook her head in confusion, “No.” 

Cierra was angry: “Andy asked me to call you, I did, but Garrett answered the phone. I told him Andy was sick and wanted to see you. Garrett said you even quit your part–time job as a vocal teacher, so there’s no teacher–student relationship anymore.” 

“When I heard the news, I was so angry, but I didn’t want Andy to feel bad. So I just made up some excuses to appease him. But recently he kept mentioning you more and more, so I had no

She asked, “Mrs. Schmitt, when was it half a year ago?” 

Cierra remembered, “End of April.”
