Chapter 125

Gideon’s POV

I soared into battle, with my soldiers right behind me to my left and my right. We moved as a line, strong and imposible say break as we plowed into the attacking rogues

From there, it was a frenzy of bared teeth and flying fur

I gave as good as I got, tackling many rogues. I tore into their flesh with my claws and my farigs, tearing through the fing like they were nothing. Around me, my soldiers fought hard. From the few glances I saw of my friends and allies between the blood splatter and the snarling, it seemed as if we were winning this day

At least, that was what I thought then. And I was confident

The problem arose as the fight persisted. My soldiers fought valiantly, cutting down eriery after enemy, but there were so many rogues. As many as I killed, two more would take their place. They flooded the forest floor, some even seerring to come out of the trees themselves

Stamina was an issue for our side, and as my warriors began to wear down, we started to lose our strength and experience advantage. Against a force of equal size, we would crush them easily. Like this, it was exceedingly more difficult

I heard wolvesyelp and smelled blood in the air. We were killing many, but we were starting to take our own casualties. My heart ached for the losses. When the battle was over, we would take time to care for the wounded and the dead

For now, we had to keep fighting, to keep pushing them back

We couldn’t lose here. The entire pack was depending on us

Nearby me, one of my warriors collapsed. I couldn’t tell if they were hit or if it was from sheer exhaustion. I ran to them, but in my blindness…

I had left my back open

A rogue pounced from the shadows behind me. I turned to block them, swiping them away midair. I swatted them right out of the sky. But just as I did, two more came forward, and then three more after that. As I swiped at one, another bit my leg. Again, and one tore into my shoulder. Again, and one bit into the back of my neck so hard that they drew blood

With three of the rogues on top of me, I was pushed down into the dirt

Around me, I watched, unable to move, as my warriors were put into similar positions, many of them overwhelmed by the enemy’s sheer numbers while others continued to try to fight, to hold out

Were we destined to lose this fight

The rogues on my back continued to bite and tear into my flesh. If I stayed still, if I allowed this, I would soon be killed. Their number and viciousness was overwhelming even my Alpha healing abilities

Leo…

If I died, my little boy would be all alone. He was a strong child, capable in many ways, but he was only six. He wasn’t ready to be a pack Alpha yet

And if this rogue army continued, they would eventually reach the pack house…

Leo might not live past six years old

Chapter 123

My son

And then, there was also. Claire

I would never get to apologize to her, to make things right. Even if she wanted to stay in Ivan’s pack, i owed her explanations

As the light started to dim before my eyes, thoughts of Leo and Claire swirled around in my heart

In my head

I couldn’t die here. There was still too much to do. Far too much

With a roar, I shoved myself to my paws. Turning my head, I snatched the rogues off my back one by one anri sosed them

away

Then, with rage and desperation swirling inside of me God, the pain was intense I howled

Slowly, my body started to change, becoming even bigger, even stronger

To protect my family, my home, I tapped into strength I didn’t know I had, and I became something more

My vision turned red as I surged forward. I moved so fast I must have been a blur

The enemy wouldn’t get past me here. They wouldn’t survive

I would protect my home. My pack. My son. Claire

I tore through the opponent like the wild animal I was

And finally, when they were gone, I looked back at my wideeyed soldiers and collapsed

Leo’s POV

My guards weren’t paying attention to me again, but after having been caught by Peter before, I knew better than to run

I bounced my ball against the wall for now, since I didn’t have anyone to play with at the moment. I was pretty good at catching it when it came back to me, but this last time, I missed, and the ball rolled past me and into the bushes

Past the bushes would have been beyond line of sight of my bodyguards. I turned to look, but they were still not paying attention. In fact, their backs were entirely turned to me as one of them told the others a joke. It must have been funny because they laughed and laughed

No one would notice then, if I sneaked through the brush to get my ball back

Determined, I pushed through the brush. My ball was only a few feet in the foliage, so I didn’t have to go too far

Yet, as I was reaching for it, a hand caught my arm

I looked up into the eyes of a man I did not know. I wanted to scream but he immediately covered my mouth. Hoisting me under his arm, he immediately scaled the wall of the pack house, and then started racing through the forest

My panic made my heart jump into my throat. I tried kicking and punching and squirming, but nothing seemed to work

I was being taken

Chapter 125

Daddy

My kidnapper stopped abruptly, and hope sprang into my cheat

Instead of my father stepping out from beland a tree, Peter did. His glare oras sharp, his face more wil with weer t had ever seen. Usually Peter was pretty calm

Where do you think you are taking Leo?he demanded

My kidnapper didn’t say a word, didn’t move except to hold me tighter as I tried to squirms free

Suddenly another rogue dropped from the tree, right on top of Peter. They grabbled, but because Peter was taken twy surprised, one of his legs seemed broken

The kidnapper holding me didn’t wait to see how the fight would turn out. And soon, I couldn’t even war the commd of the struggle

I didn’t know how far we went, or how long my kidnapper ran. My fear made time feel funny

Eventually, we reached a trailer home in the middle of the woods. The kidnapper carried me inside. There were more like him in the living room, but he turned and threw me into one of the bedrooms. Immediately, he closed the door then, locking me inside

At once I checked the windows, but there were bars on them and I couldn’t get out. The door was locked and there was no other way to get out

Feeling defeated, I slumped down onto the ground

I tried not to cry. An Alpha wouldn’t cry

But I was scared

I missed my Dad and Raven

They would come to rescue meright
