Once they were outside, the technicians finally let out a sigh of relief.

They looked at her with immense gratitude; if she hadn’t been there, they likely would have seen blood today. 

Seraphina rubbed her temples. “Go back and rest. I still want to find a way to research this matter further.” 

After they left, she called her confidant and sent a message to Eric Nolan. 

No matter what, she would try diplomacy before resorting to force. 

By the time Alice received the news, it was already dusk. 

Learning that Eric had actually gone to the banquet alone, she immediately contacted Stanley and followed him to the most luxurious hotel in Heswil. 

This time, when Seraphina met Eric, she appeared more composed than before.

She knew uprooting the Sarratts from the outside would be nearly impossible. 

With an insider, it would be far easier. 

Eric countered calmly, “Why would I trust you again?” 

“I know my credibility suffered before. But you don’t have a better option now, do you?” 

“As an insider, I can be worth a hundred men, even if there is a risk. 

“I am worth the gamble.”

He lifted the cup and placed it gently into her palm. 

Alice paused for half a second before taking a quiet sip.
