Chapter 12
Bethany sneered, “I never believed in blind favoritism. Winona spoiled Estelle so much, there had to be a reason. We just have to figure out what it is–like how did she find Estelle back then? Where did she take Estelle abroad? And how did she get Estelle to copy Mel so
well?”
If Estelle didn’t look so much like Melanie, Bethany would’ve thought her was fake from the start.
Melanie grew up right under her nose, so Bethany knew her temper and habits best.
But then Winona took “Melanie” abroad without a word. When she came back, she wasn’t that close to Bethany.
Distant, yes–but some of her habits hadn’t changed…
Bethany had always thought maybe a few years overseas had just made Melanie a little distant.
Until it was found out that Estelle wasn’t Alberto’s real daughter.
It happened suddenly.
It was found during the physical exam.
The Rasmussen family had a physical every year, and the blood types had always matched–until a few months ago. Estelle’s physical
showed her blood type was O. But Alberto was type A, and Winona was AB. There was no way their child could have type O
report
blood.
Bethany went straight to the hospital to confirm it–Estelle really was type O.
As for the old report showing AB, the answer was simple: someone had likely tampered with it.
The hospital was investigating, but they still hadn’t found any results.
Since then, Bethany finally figured out something she hadn’t understood for years.
Why did “Melanie” grow distant after coming back from abroad?
Turns out, she was totally fake.
But Winona said, the two kids were switched.
That was really funny.
If she was switched at birth, how did she live with Melanie for so many years?
Was everything before Melanie turned six just a dream?
Then Melanie was found and brought back. The girl she had loved since childhood stood in front of her. Only then did she realize…something was different.
That was blood. That was family. No one could fake or replace it.
Winona’s explanation was full of holes, and the way she defended Estelle made Bethany more suspicious.
She thought Estelle might be Winona’s child with someone else. So, she secretly did a paternity test for them. The result showed Estelle wasn’t Winona’s daughter.
Now, the only way to find out what Winona really wants is to find Estelle’s real parents.

“You didn’t have to worry.” The key person noticed Bethany’s anger and said, “I’ll keep an eye on all these things myself, so just relax.”
Bethany calmed down a lot, “Keep an eye on Winona lately. Estelle and Warren’s marriage didn’t work out, and I’m worried she might do something to Mel again.”
“Okay”
the Fulton’s villa.
Nikolas and Araceli and Warren’s parents walked into the villa with cold faces.
Warren followed behind with the same gloomy look on his face.
Georgia Carrillo glanced back at Warren, couldn’t keep a straight face anymore, and burst out laughing.“Honey, I really regret not taking a picture of your son’s priceless look at the engagement party.”
Georgia gave Warren a half–smile. “With that poker face, I’m starting to think I had twins, and the useless one in front of Melanie is the other son I’ve been hiding.”
Warren glanced at her, walked straight to the sofa and sat down, crossed his legs, and said slowly, “You don’t want the perfume
anymore?”
The smile on Georgia’s lips froze right away. Then she grabbed Fabian Fulton’s arm and said sweetly, “Honey, look at him!”
Fabian patted her hand, eyes full of affection, “If he dares not buy it for you, I’ll beat him up.”
“Beat me up?” Warren curled his lips.“Dad, you sure you could take me?”
Fabian’s face froze, a bit awkward, “What? You think you can actually hit your old man?”
“Don’t dare!” Warren stayed calm.“But whether we could get Mr. Bacchus’s private brew, who knows.”
Fabian, “…”
This damn kid.
As annoying as ever.
He retired in his early fifties.
With nothing to do, drinking had become a hobby.
Mr. Bacchus was a well–known winemaker in the country. The price couldn’t compete with those famous foreign wines, but it tasted really good.
Warren had gotten him two bottles before. He’d treasured them, drinking just a little each day, but still finished them recently.
It had taken a lot of effort to get Warren to promise more, and now the kid was using it to bargain.
Araceli and Nikolas rolled their eyes the moment they saw Warren’s face.
No one knew who this kid took after. He was always so cold, like someone owed him a million bucks.
If he had always been like this, fine. But the way he acted so cheap and fawning in front of Melanie, they really wondered, did he only swap souls when facing Melanie?
Araceli walked over and kicked Warren on the leg,“Sit up.”
After she finished speaking, she sat next to Warren and asked, “What’s going on between you and that Melanie?”

“My girlfriend.” Warren smiled when Melanie was mentioned.
Araceli just couldn’t bear to look.
Georgia even turned her head away, out of sight, out of mind.
So she wouldn’t get too upset.

“Why didn’t you bring your girlfriend home earlier? You just had to let things get out of hand. Good thing I get along with Bethany, otherwise I wouldn’t even know how to explain this.” Araceli slapped Warren in frustration. “What have you been doing all day?”
Warren sat up straight, looking serious, and said, “I need to remind you, you set up an engagement for me without my permission, and that violated my legal rights…”
“Hey, you little bastard.” Warren hadn’t even finished talking when Araceli slapped him.“What? You wanna send me to jail or something?”
“For those with serious cases, three years in prison.” Warren stated the fact calmly.
Araceli glared at him, “It’s your fault. You’re never home, your phone is just for show, never pick up no matter how many times I call. If you ever came back even once, I wouldn’t have rushed to settle things with Estelle.”
Araceli sighed, “But now the problem is, it’s probably hard for you to marry Melanie. Seeing her today, she didn’t plan to be with you. And Bethany cares about Melanie like she’s her own eyes. From the way she talked, she didn’t want to let Melanie marry you either.”
Araceli was worried, but she felt proud.
Warren always looked down on people, never respected anyone.
Now finally someone was able to handle him, but ironically, that person didn’t care about him.
Warren shot her a look, “You made my wife leave, you go get her back for me.”
Araceli was mad, “What? What do you mean I made her leave?”
“You kept forcing girls on me, of course she thinks I’m cheating.” Warren got a headache just thinking about it.
He was randomly accused of cheating, and he didn’t even have a chance to explain.
Melanie totally ignored him. The harder he chased, the harder she hit.
But he just couldn’t hit back.
“I…,” Araceli couldn’t find the words for a moment.
It seemed like she really messed things up.
Warren stood up, “You guys go figure out a way to get my wife back. If you can’t get her back, don’t even think about getting anything
you want.”
