Just then, the bodyguards who had been knocked down all sprang to their feet at once.

He’d only pretended to be knocked out to see what else this woman would try besides seducing him by pretending to be Nina. Now it was obvious, Vincent had sent a complete fool, just to stir things up between him and Nina.

Just as he finished speaking, a voice called out from behind him. “Ryan!”
Ryan turned around and saw Felix walking toward him.
Felix was looking great now, not a scratch left on him.
But that mission in Frontierland had nearly cost Felix his life.
Ryan frowned. “Didn’t I tell you to take some time off after this mission?”
Felix lowered his head. “Ryan, it’s my duty to protect you. Besides, with Nina’s… your wife’s skills as a doctor. I’m back to full strength, fit as a fiddle. I’m totally fine.”
Realizing he’d slipped up with Nina’s name, Felix quickly corrected himself.
Then, just to prove he was back in top form, he showed off a few punches, kicks, and even a backflip for Ryan.
Ryan didn’t say anything more, just waved it off. “Alright, let’s go get Nina and bring her home.”
“Got it, Simon replied.
Meanwhile, deep underground in the palace.
On the second floor of the underground palace.
Samuel stood above, gripping the unconscious Ruby by one arm. He looked down at Nina. “Nina, I brought her to you. But you really think this means you’ve won?”
Without giving Nina a chance to reply, Samuel just hurled Ruby straight down to the floor below.
Nina’s face shifted, and with a few swift leaps, she sprang up and caught Ruby with pinpoint accuracy.
The instant Nina caught Scarlet, her heart lurched violently.
Scarlet weighed nothing at all.
She was dressed in baggy, oversized clothes, her skin ghostly pale from being kept away from sunlight, and her eyes were wide open, staring blankly, completely motionless.
