Chapter 321

Nina arched her eyebrow, didn’t say anything else, and just left with Scarlet.

In no time, Nina and the others emerged from the underground palace.

Elaine and Ethan rushed over immediately.

Seeing Nina safe and sound, Ethan let out a sigh of relief. “Good, you’re safe. That’s all that matters.”

After a pause, Ethan glanced toward the underground palace. “Did you catch him?”

By “him,” Ethan was talking about Samuel.

Ever since he learned Samuel was still alive and had been deceiving Sarah for so many years, Ethan just couldn’t bring himself to call him “Grandpa” anymore.

He wasn’t like Nina, though.

Whenever Nina had to face Samuel, she could still call him “Grandpa.”

But even if Ethan tried to pretend, he just couldn’t do it.

He knew he just couldn’t pull it off, so this time, he followed Elaine’s orders to the letter and didn’t say a single word.

He was terrified he’d lose his cool, rush in to confront Samuel and make him pay, and mess up everything Nina had worked

for.

“No,” Nina replied.

Ethan frowned. “Is he really that hard to catch?”

In Ethan’s eyes, no one could ever beat Nina.

But now, even Nina couldn’t catch Samuel. Did that mean Samuel was even tougher to deal with?

“Let’s talk about it when we get back,” Nina said.

She didn’t want to talk about it out in the open.

Seeing that, Ethan didn’t press any further.

“Nina.”

Then came a chilly voice.

Nina looked up. Ryan was already walking toward her.

Ryan’s tall figure loomed over her.

Their eyes met, and before either of them could say a word, Ryan pulled her into his arms.

Chapter 821

A subtle medicinal scent lingered in the air as Ryan’s Adam’s apple bobbed. His hand gently caressed her cheek.

In that moment, actions spoke louder than any words could.

Everyone around instinctively looked away.

Except for Vincent, who glued his eyes to the scene, his right hand clenched tightly into a fist.

Ryan Vincent seethed inwardly.

Vincent frowned, but before he could say a word. Ryan shoved a pill straight into his mouth.

“What did you just make me swallow?” Vincent demanded, scowling.

Vincent tried to spit it out, but Ryan didn’t give him a chance. He gripped Vincent’s jaw in a vice and forced him to swallow the pill. Only when Vincent finally gulped it down did Ryan let go.

Right away, Vincent could tell something weird was happening inside him.

He was burning up!

It was like he was being grilled alive, flames licking at his skin.

Vincent’s expression changed dramatically. Ryan really drugged him!

He didn’t even bother dealing with Ryan right now. Instead, he whipped out his phone and called Walter.

“You useless piece of trash, where the hell are you? Get over here and pick me up, I’ve been drugged, damn it! Vincent barked.

Vincent hung up, shooting Ryan a vicious glare.

He didn’t even dare stick around.

That son of a bitch Ryan definitely sent that fake Nina over, Vincent thought

He had to get out of there, fast.

He was completely powerless against Nina.

Ryan let out a cold laugh. Tm only afraid he won’t show up.

This time, for Nina’s sake, he kept things pretty tame.

“Ruby, raising you all these years wasn’t easy. You can betray your country if you want, but can you really bear to see so many people die because of you?” he said.

“Is it the innocent people, or the one you love? The team you trained, or the daughter you regret hurting the most?” he continued.

Ruby clutched her chest, and her face went pale.

Samuel had let her come back, but only so she’d have to make a choice.

She had to choose between saving Nina, Miranda, or David.

Three choices, but she could only choose one.

None of them could get out from under Samuel’s thumb.

He’d set the whole game in motion ages ago.

Ruby sighed, closed her eyes, and stopped thinking about it.

At Brocade Villa, Nina and Elaine’s cars pulled up one after another.

Elaine helped Ruby out of the car.

Nina hurried over and took Ruby’s other arm. “Scarlet, we’re home.”

Ruby looked up at the villa in front of her, nodded, and didn’t say a word.

Nina noticed how tired Scarlet looked, her eyes bloodshot.

Even though Nina had a lot she wanted to talk to Scarlet about, right now, Scarlet just needed to rest.

They walked into the villa, but Sarah was nowhere to be found.

Ethan looked around and spotted an envelope sitting on the coffee table.
