“Whoa, he stopped moving,” the bald guy suddenly said. “Looks like he’s barely hanging on.”
Briana turned her head to look. “Henry!” Briana shouted, panic rising in her voice.
Henry was sprawled on the ground, drenched in blood, not moving at all.
“Henry!” Briana screamed, her voice cracking with fear. Briana, crazed with panic, frantically crawled toward him, desperate to reach his side.
Eric gestured sharply. “Tie him up and toss him in the river. Make it quick.”
The bald guy kept nodding, shouting at the others. They grabbed some ropes and began tying up Henry’s hands and feet. Henry still didn’t move.
The cold moonlight shone down on the sticky, bright red blood, making the whole scene look even more chilling. The whole scene was downright creepy.
“Henry…” Briana called out again and again, her voice shaking with panic. “Just answer me, just once… Are you still alive? You can’t die. How could you die just to save me? You just can’t.”
Briana was crying and shouting, dragging herself desperately closer to Henry.
As Briana crawled closer, the details of Henry’s condition came into focus, each inch making the horror clearer.
He was all torn up, just a mess of blood and flesh, barely even looking human anymore.
Blood covered him from head to toe, soaking his clothes and face, and it just kept pouring out, pooling around him. His eyes were shut, and it was like he’d already stopped breathing.
After tying up Henry’s hands, the bald guy gave him a kick and said, “No response at all.”
Eric said, “Forget it. Just finish tying him up and throwing him in the river. He’s not making it out alive.”
“Got it,” the bald guy replied.
The bald guy and his crew hauled Henry out of the woods, making their way toward the riverbank!
Eric yanked Briana by the collar, pulling her along after them.
“We’ll throw Henry in first, then it’s your turn,” Eric said coldly.
He added, “Should I knock you out, or do you want to stay awake and watch as the water slowly covers you, suffocating you bit by bit? So, which way do you want to die?
“Consider yourself lucky. If Henry hadn’t gotten here so fast, I would’ve let them do whatever they wanted for you first.”

Briana gritted her teeth, her voice trembling with rage. “Eric, you’ll die a miserable death! Karma’s coming for you, and you deserve every bit of it.”
Eric just smirked. “You won’t live long enough to see that happen.”
“You and Vivian have been thick as thieves for ages, always scheming together,” Briana snapped. “If you hate me so much, then come for me. Going after Henry is just pathetic.”
Eric sneered, “Henry’s just your lapdog. Why would I keep him around just so he can make trouble for me?”
“He’s your friend too,” Briana accused, her voice trembling with anger.
Eric sneered, “Friends? That’s bullshit. In this circle, it’s all about profit. Nobody’s really friends.”
As they talked, the group reached the riverbank.
The bald guy looked at Eric. “Ready to toss him in?”
Eric let go of Briana, dumping her hard on the ground. Then he walked over to Henry and crouched down beside him. He reached out and put his finger under Henry’s nose, checking if he was still breathing.
Just as his finger brushed Henry’s nose, Henry’s eyes snapped open, fixing Eric with a chilling, dead–eyed glare.
Henry’s mouth was even faster than his eyes. He went straight for Eric’s finger, sinking his teeth in without a second thought. He locked his jaw, biting down with everything he had.
Eric let out a blood–curdling scream. It felt like Henry was about to rip his whole finger off, flesh, bone, everything.
He was howling in pain, yelling, “What are you all standing around for? Get over here and help me.”
The others rushed over in a flash. Some tried to rip Henry’s mouth open, others started punching and kicking him, and a few even tried to wrench his jaw loose.
But no matter what they did, Henry just wouldn’t let go. And just like that, Henry, with brutal force, bit clean through Eric’s finger, ripping a chunk of it right off.
“Fuck!” Eric howled, his face twisted in pain, swearing up a storm. Eric’s features were contorted with agony as he screamed and spat curses, completely losing it.
Henry gripped the severed finger between his teeth, then suddenly flashed a twisted grin.
Seeing that, Eric dove at him, reaching into Henry’s mouth, desperately trying to snatch his finger back.
‘Gotta keep the finger safe. Maybe the doctors can stitch it back on, Eric thought.
But Henry whipped his head around and spat the finger hard, straight into the river. The severed finger flew in a perfect arc and splashed into the water. It disappeared without a trace, swallowed up by the current.
There was no getting it back. Eric’s finger was finished. He’d never get it back, not in this lifetime.

Henry burst out laughing, his voice echoing wildly through the empty night. His laughter filled the desolate air, chilling everyone to the bone.
“Eric, you’ll be maimed for life. Every time you see that stump where your finger used to be, you’ll remember exactly what I did to you…” Henry taunted, his voice dripping with malice.
Before Henry could finish, Eric slapped him hard across the face.
“Even at death’s door, you’re still scheming against me,” Eric spat, his voice full of venom. “I might’ve lost a finger, but you? You’re the one who’s about to lose it all, your life. You’re finished.”
Henry glared back, his voice hoarse but defiant. “Don’t think you’ll get away with this, Eric. You won’t be around much longer. Karma’s coming for you, and you’ll pay for every dirty thing you’ve done.”
Blood gushed from Henry’s mouth, staining the ground as he coughed and choked.
“Henry…” Briana’s eyes were swollen from crying, her voice raw and broken. “Why did you have to be so reckless? Why did you come here all by yourself? You didn’t have to risk everything for me.”
Henry paused, then with great effort, lifted his head and struggled to look at Briana, his eyes filled with pain and longing.
“Briana…” he whispered, his voice trembling. “Finally… I get to see you…”
He wanted to say something, but then it hit him. He must look scary as hell right now, all covered in blood.
“Don’t look at me, Briana, just don’t…” Henry shook his head, his voice weak and shaky. “You’ll be terrified, this’ll haunt you. Listen, no matter what happens to me, you have to make it out alive. Promise me, Briana. You have to survive.”
“You idiot, Henry! Why did you have to be so reckless?” Briana sobbed, her voice cracking. Her tears wouldn’t stop, pouring down her cheeks.
‘I already owe Henry so much in this life, more than I could ever pay back. If I owed him my life on top of everything else… No, he can’t die,‘ Briana thought, and her heart screamed in panic.
“If I hadn’t rushed over, Briana, you would’ve already been dead… There was no way I could just sit around. and wait. I couldn’t risk it, not for a second,” Henry gasped, his voice trembling with guilt and desperation.
“Don’t be scared,” Henry tried to comfort her, his voice barely hanging on. “Briana, there’ll be a ton of people coming to save you soon. You’re gonna be okay, I promise.
“You have to keep living, Briana. Live your life to the fullest, be happy, chase your dreams, love the ones you want to love…
“You’ve got a kid, you’re a mom. Briana, if I die… it doesn’t matter, I’ll be fine. But you have to keep going, for your child, for yourself…” Henry was too weak to get another word out.
His breathing was so faint it was barely a whisper–he was teetering on the edge of passing out, hanging on by nothing but sheer determination.

And that determination was all for one thing: the desperate hope of seeing Briana, just one last time.
Seeing her alive, at least out of immediate danger, only then could Henry let go, even if just a little.
‘It should be soon… Henry thought, his mind drifting. ‘Any minute now, Shepard and Olivia would show up. Briana would finally be safe.
Eric cut them off before they could say another word. He clutched his mangled hand and barked at the bald guy, “Quit spacing out and get to work!”
“Yeah, yeah, right away!” the bald guy stammered.
The bald guy lifted Henry by the head, while the other two grabbed his legs. They were getting ready to dump him into the river.
“No, don’t!” Briana shouted, her voice cracking with fear.
Briana’s eyes went wide as she tried to stop them, panic etched across her face.
She tried to scramble up from the ground, but with her feet tied, she just crashed back down, helpless and desperate.
“You can’t throw him in the river. No, you can’t. He’ll be gone for good. I’ll never find him. Don’t do this!” Briana cried, her voice trembling with desperation.
