When Nina heard Wynter talking outside the Moore family’s place, Simon could tell she was seriously pissed. 

But as soon as they stepped inside, she suddenly went all calm, like she was a different person. 

That’s why Simon just couldn’t wrap his head around the way Nina handled things today. 

Ryan, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced up. In the rearview mirror, Nina was staring out the window, lost in thought, not saying a word. 

Ryan looked away. “Nina doesn’t want to spill any blood. She’s doing this for Mona’s sake.” 

Even though she didn’t go easy on the Moore family, at least they were still alive. 

As long as they were alive, Nina could still earn some good karma for Mona. 

Simon fell silent. 

So that’s why Nina’s been handling things differently lately. She’s just trying to do what she can to make things better for Mona, wherever she is now, Simon thought.

Samuel chuckled softly on the other end, “So what if I am? Ruby’s still with me, and you still don’t have the guts to go after Sherman Manor, do you?”

But Samuel could sense her fury. “Of course, as long as you fulfill my demand, I won’t lay a finger on him.” 

Nina’s slender fingers drummed slowly on her leg as she smiled, “Looks like what you want isn’t the potion anymore, huh?” 

Lily had already successfully developed the potion, and if nothing went wrong, it was probably already in Lawrence’s hands. by now. 

Lawrence would definitely run straight to Samuel to brag about it and earn some credit. 

Samuel waited two days before calling her, so he must’ve already tried out the potion himself. 

To make sure everything went smoothly, Lily had developed the full version of the potion.

Samuel laughed, “Nina, drop this. I’m no fool, and I know you aren’t, either. I want your Soul–Stealing Thirteen Needles, but I won’t be the one knocking on your door. Someone else will come for them. Just keep your guard up.” 

Nina’s eyes narrowed, her voice dropping to a chilling edge. “If you dare lay a finger on Scarlet, I’ll make sure you pay.” 

“Relax. She’s my adopted daughter and my disciple. Someone as exceptional as her? Of course, I wouldn’t ruin her,” Samuel replied. 

With that, he hung up. 

Nina held her phone, her face completely expressionless. “Ryan, I’m leaving the rest to you.”
