Chapter 119 An Unexpected Patient

Tracy still hadn’t figured out Sean’s motives by the time she lay down in bed.

She rolled over. Forget it. If she couldn’t figure it out, she wouldn’t try. It was almost midnight. She needed to sleep, or she’d be in trouble trying to wake up tomorrow.

She set an alarm for 6:00 AM and fell asleep.

She slept soundly all night.

The next day, as soon as the alarm went off, Tracy threw off the covers and got out of bed. She got ready quickly, then went to Sean’s door and knocked.

After a moment, there was no response. She knocked again. After knocking several times, she pressed her lips together, took out her phone, and called him.

No one answered. He was really in a deep sleep. But we agreed to go to the market together, didn’t we?How could he not get up when it’s time?

Tracy felt a little deflated. Fine, she’d just go by herself. She was about to turn and leave when she heard a door open behind her.

Tracy turned around and saw Sean standing in the doorway. He was still wearing yesterday’s shirt, his handsome face flushed, and he looked completely drained.

Her intuition told her Sean was probably sick. She hurried over and touched his forehead. He was definitely burning up.

She helped Sean to the sofa and sat him down, then looked up at him. “Do you have any fever medicine here?”

Sean forced himself to sit up on the sofa. His eyelids were heavy, his head was spinning, and his body felt hot. He shook his head. He had moved in here temporarily. Aside from the bare necessities, he hadn’t stocked any medicine.

Tracy asked, “Besides the fever, do you have any other symptoms? Like a sore throat, stuffy nose, or a cough? Tell me everything at once so can get the right medicine.”

Sean shook his head. “No.”

She took out her phone and immediately ordered fever and cold medicine on a local delivery app.

After doing that, she looked at the empty coffee table and asked, “You don’t even have a kettle?”

Tracy glanced around. There wasn’t even a water dispenser. Does he just not drink water?

She went to the bathroom, got some hot water, soaked a towel, and placed the damp towel on Sean’s forehead to try and cool him down physically.

Watching Tracy bustle around, a faint smile touched Sean’s lips. He was rather enjoying this. He simply closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.

She then went to her apartment to get her own kettle. After the water boiled, she poured it into a cup to let it cool.

Just as she finished, her phone rang. She knew it was the delivery. She hurried to open the door.

Only after opening her door did she realize she had used her own address. She waved her still-ringing phone at the delivery driver and called out, “Over here!”

He handed her the medicine and left quickly. She had Sean take the medicine, then covered

towel from time to time and him with a light blanket. She sat beside him, changing the checking his temperature with a thermometer every half hour.

She had experience, having taken care of a sick Renee the same way.

Only when Sean’s temperature finally dropped did Tracy relax and go back to her apartment to cook oats.

Half an hour later, she returned carrying a steaming bowl of millet porridge and tucked a pillow behind Sean’s back. Just as he had fed her she blew on each spoonful and fed him, one bite at a time. The two worked together with a natural, comfortable rhythm.

Sean suddenly looked at her, his gaze dark, his tone unreadable. “Have you taken care of people often?”

Tracy’s hand, which was reaching for the medicine, paused. “Yes. I used to have a sister-in-law who was hard to please. When she was sick, no one else could take care of her, so I had to.”

Hailey had spoiled Renee rotten. Whenever Renee was sick, she would specifically demand that Tracy take care of her.

In the past, she always thought it was because she and Renee were close. But later, it got worse and worse. Renee even stopped showing her, her sister-in-law, any respect at all.

Even though she was disappointed in Renee, she still did everything she asked.

And what did she get in return?

Renee did everything she could to help Yvonne take her place, even framing her. For that alone, Renee would never deserve her forgiveness.

Hearing Tracy’s explanation, Sean’s expression softened. He took the medicine she handed him and tipped his head back, swallowing it.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Tracy glanced at Sean. “You have a guest. Your fever’s down, so I’ll get going.”

Sean’s gaze was unreadable. He pressed his lips together, saying nothing. Tracy took the thermos and went to open the door.

Standing at the door was a young woman who looked like a college student. She had a high ponytail, and her features bore a slight resemblance to Sean’s.

When Natasha saw Tracy, she was visibly stunnel. Why is there a woman apartment?

Is this his girlfriend?

Before Natasha could ask, Tracy spoke, “You must be his sister, right? His fever just broke, and he just took his medicine. He probably needs to rest.”
