Chapter 120 Sister-in-Law
“How did you know I was his sister? Did my brother mention me?” Natasha looked at Tracy in surprise, her eyes lighting up.
If she was really Sean’s girlfriend, she had to go back and tell their mom. It would make her so happy.
After all, after waiting so many years, Sean was finally making a move against the White family. Back then, she had started to guess that he must have found a girl he liked.
And now she was seeing it with her own eyes. Sean was sick, and this girl was taking such good care of him. This was wonderful.
Sean had finally met someone willing to take care of him. She was genuinely happy for him.
Tracy knew Natasha had misunderstood and quickly explained, “You’ve misunderstood. Your brother and I are just neighbors. We’re not close enough to tell each other everything.”
“I just saw that you two look a bit alike, so I just asked. I’m sorry for giving you the wrong impression.”
This girl seemed to be around Renee’s age, but her words were so polite. She was so much more well-mannered than Renee.
From the first glance, she found the girl lovely to look at. The Johnson family must have strong genes; both siblings were stunning.
Although Natasha wasn’t entirely convinced, she didn’t say any more. She walked over to Sean with an “I see how it is” expression.
She smiled and teased, “No wonder you suddenly decided to move out. It’s because she lives. here! You just got back to the country and already found a girlfriend without telling the family. So when’s the wedding?”
She really liked Tracy. Her first impression was that she was a good person. Most importantly, Sean was sick, and she was taking care of him.
Sean gave Natasha a cool look. “Don’t go back and spread nonsense.”
“Fine, I get it. I won’t say anything.” Natasha blinked, then asked, “Is she really my future sister-in-law?”
Her only response was silence.
Fine. Silence meant yes. If he wouldn’t say it, he wouldn’t say it. She’d just see how long he
<
could hide it.
Tracy went home. After finishing her oats, she planned to take a nap. Taking care of people was exhausting, and her arms felt sore.
Thankfully, Sean’s sister was here now. There was nothing else for her to do, so she could finally rest.
But she tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. Remembering she had a business trip tomorrow, she got up to buy ingredients to bake some cookies for the flight.
She busied herself in the kitchen for two hours and finally finished, packing the cookies into a food container.
She had intentionally made extra, so she took two boxes over to Sean.
Tracy knocked on Sean’s door. Natasha opened t.
She handed the cookies to Natasha. “I made these. Please have some, if you’d like.”
Natasha took the container, smiling. “Thank you. These look delicious. You’re so skilled, sister-in-law.”
Hearing the words “sister-in-law,” Tracy froze for a moment, her thoughts drifting.
In a daze, she seemed to hear Renee calling her that. The Renee back then had been so clingy and always acted coy with her.
When she did poorly on a test and got scolded by Hailey, Renee would come find her to make her comfort food.
Renee was so easy to please back then. A single box of cookies could cheer her up.
But looking at this girl, who was about the same age as Renee, she was snapped back to reality. That was all a long time ago.
The Renee of today couldn’t wait to be rid of her, just so Yvonne could take her place.
At this thought, Tracy gently corrected Natasha You’ve misunderstood. I’m not your sister- in-law. Your brother and I are really just neighbors.”
Besides the fact that he was her uncle’s savior, there really was nothing else between her and Sean. 2
Natasha enthusiastically linked arms with her. “If you don’t like ‘sister-in-law,’ then I’ll just call you Tracy!”
။။
She didn’t know why, but she really liked Tracy. She truly hoped Tracy would become her sister-in-law.
Tracy gave a slight nod. She wasn’t quite used to Natasha’s immediate friendliness.
Natasha took a cookie from the box and bit into t. Her eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Wow, these are delicious! Can I ask you to make them again sometime?”
“Sure,” Tracy said, scratching her head, a bit embarrassed. Are they really that good? That’s quite an exaggeration.
Monday came. When Natasha got to her classroom, she carefully took the cookie container and a carton of milk out of her bag.
Just then, Renee walked in. She saw the familiar container on Natasha’s desk and hurried
over.
Renee stared at the cookies, her tone laced with displeasure. “Natasha, where did you get those?”
The two of them were evenly matched academically and were always competing on every exam. They were, by all accounts, rivals.
