Chapter 14

After spending two hours at the police station, I left without anything solid. I created a group chat and added the two of them, texting to let them kame

what happened and that I was out. After a light lunch, I went to the mall. I needed a new laptop for work and bought some clothes because all of time were destroyed in the fire. When I handed the girl the credit card, her eyes went wide. She looked at me, then at the card.

He started laughing. “It’s not funny, Dean.”

“Who are you?” Miranda asked, looking at me. “Don’t answer that question, princess. I’m five minutes away.”

“Any more surprises?”

“No,” they both answered in unison.

“Good, keep it that way, or both your asses will get kicked out.”
