Chapter 1146
Grace looked at Aurora’s determined expression and grew angry.
She gritted her teeth and said, “You’d better think carefully. If you ever want to come back to Walton Corporation, I won’t give you that chance.”
“Madam Grace, I understand what you mean.” Aurora gave her word seriously. “In the future, no matter what happens, I won’t come to trouble you.”
“Good, very good.” Grace was backed into a corner with no way out.
She thought Aurora had finally come to her senses and was willing to listen.
She never expected that at such a critical moment, Aurora would deal her a fatal blow.
With so many people watching, she couldn’t reject her openly. She was truly trapped.
Tessa, however, wasn’t willing to give up such a valuable piece on the board.
Since Grace had paved the way for her, following it would surely be the right choice.
To keep up the appearance of generosity, Tessa still spoke kindly. “Sister, don’t make trouble. Mother will
be hurt.”
“Enough.” Aurora let out a cold snort.
“Stop trying to smooth things over. I don’t regret my decision at all. As for you, standing here blocking me at every turn–don’t tell me you just want me to be your free labor?”
Tessa parted her lips, her face full of grievance. “Sister, how could you think that of me? I only don’t want to see you and Mother at odds. Is it wrong for me to do this?”
Aurora answered coldly, “You’re not wrong, I just don’t want to act with you anymore.”
She turned to Grace. “Madam Grace–no, I should call you Mom. Tomorrow my resignation letter will be on your desk. As for tonight’s banquet, let’s end it here. I’m tired, so I’ll leave with Lukey. Goodbye, Mom.”
Aurora looked like a daughter saying farewell to her mother, her delicate face carrying a faint smile.
But Grace saw clearly–the smile never reached her eyes.
It was obvious this time that Aurora wasn’t joking.
A chill ran through Grace’s heart. She realized she was truly about to lose Aurora.
Grace watched Aurora’s back as she stepped off the stage and suddenly called out, “Aurora, will you truly
never regret this?”

Her only reply was Aurora’s steady footsteps.
This time, she didn’t hesitate in the slightest.
Each step carried her firmly toward her future.
Aurora felt an overwhelming sense of ease, freer than she ever did working at the company.
She had never felt this way before.
Now she realized–it was simply the weight pressing on her shoulders for too long.
Letting go, her heart felt lighter, even her breathing seemed sweeter.
As Aurora came down from the stage, Megan and the others quickly gathered around her.
Megan’s eyes sparkled. “Aurora, you were absolutely amazing just now. I never noticed before, but you’re practically overflowing with charisma.”
Aurora frowned slightly, then smiled. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
Megan chuckled, scratching the back of her head. “I’m just showing how much I admire you.”
Aurora tapped her forehead lightly, her face full of indulgent amusement.
Then, as she lifted her head, her eyes met Lucas‘ deep, dark gaze.
Aurora asked awkwardly, “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Because you’re beautiful.” Lucas praised without hesitation. “Once you’re ready, we’ll head back
together.”
