Chapter 1161
Seeing how much Ian trusted her, Aurora felt deeply moved.
“Alright, I won’t let you down,” she told him honestly.
“I do have an idea–I want to open a design studio, focusing on real estate design. The assistant’s position will always be reserved for you.”
Hearing this, Ian finally felt at ease.
He had known all along–Aurora would never be defeated.
Leaving Walton was just a stepping stone. There would be plenty of other companies eager to offer her opportunities.
Since Aurora herself had made up her mind to leave, Ian didn’t try to stop her again.
When he returned, he immediately began drafting his resignation letter.
He submitted it straight to HR.
The HR manager looked at it in shock.
“Are you sure about this?”
After all, the general manager’s seat was now vacant.
Ian had been with Aurora for so long, and his abilities were recognized by everyone.
He was one of the strongest candidates for promotion.
Yet at this critical moment, he wanted to resign.
Had he gone mad?
But Ian nodded firmly. “I’ve already made up my mind. Just approve it for me.”
The HR manager opened his mouth, wanting to persuade him otherwise, but then met Ian’s steady, determined gaze.
There was nothing more to say.
At last, he sighed and replied, “This isn’t something I can decide. You’ll need to go to the chairwoman and see what she says.”
Ian frowned in confusion. “I’m just a small employee. Even for me, I have to go directly to the
chairwoman?”

The HR manager nodded seriously. “Anyone who worked under the general manager–their resignation has to go through the chairwoman.”
With no other choice, Ian let out a sigh and took his resignation letter back.
“Alright then, I understand. Thank you for the trouble.”
Seeing how polite Ian was, HR said nothing more.
In truth, her earlier words had only been a choice of phrasing.
This way, Ian still had another chance to stay.
She didn’t want to just stand by and watch him resign, letting Walton Corporation lose another valuable hand.
HR couldn’t help but sigh.
“Madam Grace, don’t blame me for giving you extra trouble.”
After all, this too was for the good of the company.
It was something she had no choice but to do.
Back in his office, Ian stared at the resignation letter, a headache setting in.
For the moment, it all felt troublesome.
He thought of what Aurora had said.
Then he set the letter down.
Maybe he should wait a little longer.
At a time like this, he wasn’t even sure if the chairwoman would approve.
When Aurora came out, Megan was waiting for her downstairs.
“My dear lady, didn’t you say the shareholders‘ meeting would end quickly?” Megan couldn’t help but complain.
Aurora replied, “I don’t know either. Too much happened during the meeting–far too many variables.”
Megan waved her hand. “Alright then, get in the car!”
“Where to?”
Aurora fastened her seatbelt.

Megan slipped on her sunglasses, buzzing with excitement. “First dinner, then a bar tonight. Since you’re finally a free spirit with no job tying you down, shouldn’t we take a few days to really relax?”
Aurora thought it over and realized she had a point.
So, she didn’t stop Megan.
The two of them headed off to the dinner.
Only when they arrived did Aurora realize it wasn’t just the two of them.
There were many unfamiliar faces at the table.
Aurora was just about to ask Megan who they all were when the others seemed to guess her thoughts and
called out, “Well, isn’t this our Miss Walton?”
