Chapter 1177
A shadow flickered in his eyes. “What? Are you saying I can’t order you around anymore?”
“No, no, I’ll go right away.”
Desmond hurried out.
At the door, he let out a long breath.
Clearly, he had spoken too much today.
As expected, matters concerning the higher–ups weren’t things someone like him could question.
Forget it, better to just do his work obediently like a beast of burden.
Only after Desmond left did Lucas‘ expression ease a little.
If he already knew Aurora’s plans, he wouldn’t have sent Desmond to investigate. There would have been
no need for such nonsense.
Besides, he and Aurora had talked things through yesterday, and she had agreed not to use that place again. So, there was no need to worry about it.
But now that Aurora was determined to establish her studio, he was willing to help however he could.
The problem was, she was so stubborn–she refused to tell him anything. No matter how conflicted he felt, if she didn’t share it, there was nothing he could do.
Before long, Desmond returned to the office.
He relayed everything he had just found out. “Mr. Carter, I’ve learned that Mrs. Carter is going to look at a
studio location this afternoon.”
“Where exactly?” Lucas asked.
“Funny enough, the plot of land she’s interested in happens to belong to Vanguard Group.”
A spark of delight lit Lucas‘ eyes. “Perfect. Arrange for that property to be rented to them. Set the rent as low as possible, but make sure she doesn’t suspect anything.”
“Understood.”
As Desmond left again, he felt even more puzzled.
No one really knew what this young couple were doing.
Clearly, they cared for each other, yet they still acted like they were playing some kind of secret game.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just be honest about their feelings? Why twist and turn around like this?
Desmond sighed and got to work on the task.
To be fair, the location Aurora had chosen was excellent.
Right next to the business district. The rent there was sky–high, which was exactly why Vanguard Group had bought up that piece of land.
That afternoon.
Aurora went with Ian and Megan to look at potential studios for rent.
Megan felt a little uneasy. “Aurora, this spot is close to the business district. I think I heard my father mention it before? The rent around here isn’t cheap, and the people in charge don’t seem easy to deal
with.”
“True, I checked it out online beforehand,” Ian adjusted his glasses.
It was obvious that anything related to Aurora was something he kept close to heart.
He wouldn’t treat it carelessly. Whatever Aurora mentioned, he would make sure to study it thoroughly.
“It’s fine. Let’s just take a look first.” Aurora’s gaze was firm.
They went to the agency.
After viewing several properties, Aurora wasn’t satisfied. None of the places matched what she had in
mind.
Since it was meant for design work, she wanted a space where just being there would keep her in good
spirits.
After all, this would be the place where she and Megan would spend long hours together.
If the studio’s location felt right, then coming to work every day would definitely be more enjoyable.
Megan grew curious. “Aurora, what kind of place are you hoping for as our studio?”
She had watched Aurora walk through so many options without finding one that pleased her.
