Chapter 1187
They knew all too well the power of dominance in one pair of hands.
So naturally, they rallied behind Grace’s Uncle, Ronald, hoping to give the side branches more weight.
Watching their faces, Grace found it laughable.
When the company was turning a profit, they kept quiet like quails, never showing up.
They hid behind her, like a pack of leeches, content each year with their share of dividends.
But now, with only a few days of losses, they all came swarming in to denounce her.
Seeing this, Grace felt an odd sense of release.
What had she really been fighting for all these years?
Grace rose slowly from her chair, circled the desk, and began walking step by step toward Ronald.
The sight made him retreat in haste. “What are you doing? Everyone’s watching–don’t tell me you mean
to get physical?”
Jason stared at Grace in disbelief. Could it be true? Had she once actually hit someone before?
Impossible.
To him, she had always been a woman of reason, never the type to resort to force.
She looked so delicate, frail even–how could she possibly have done such a thing?
He had worked by her side for years, always certain she won people over with logic and strength, not
with fists.
How could she be the person these executives described?
Jason shook his head, unable to believe it, his eyes fixed on what would happen next.
Hearing the words of the executives, Grace could only laugh. The curve of her red lips lifted. “After all these years, Uncle, you’re still as humorous as ever.”
Her steps didn’t falter as she closed the distance.
“I warn you, don’t do anything rash,” Ronald stammered, his lips trembling.
After all, he had experienced her methods before.
And to him, Grace was nothing short of the frightening legend they all whispered about.
Back when William had just died, they had already tried to force Grace out of her position.

They wanted her to hand over the seat of power.
But none of them had expected that madwoman to go berserk in public, leaving them completely
helpless.
He could still see it clearly–when they approached, she had grabbed an elder by the hair, slammed his
head onto the table, and threatened through gritted teeth, “If any of you come closer, I’ll splatter his blood
right here.”
Grace hadn’t held back in the slightest. She struck that elder without the least regard for restraint.
He remembered it vividly–he’d even tried to urge her to calm down.
But her reply had been just as shocking.
“You’re all forcing me, and you still want me calm? When a man is swinging a blade to kill, do you try to
talk down the one defending herself instead?”
As she spoke, she slammed the elder’s head onto the table again.
Those loyal to her had turned to him, pleading, “Don’t provoke her anymore, I beg you–keep your mouth
shut.”
He had opened his mouth to argue further, only to meet the sight of that elder’s bloodied face.
“Don’t say another word. If you provoke her again, I swear I’ll smash my head against the wall. Even if she lets me go, the first one she’ll turn on is you.”
Hearing that, Ronald had snapped his mouth shut in terror.
He truly couldn’t understand what these people were thinking.
Their enemy was right in front of them, plain as day, yet they insisted on turning against the one who was holding their ground for them.
