“If your project can’t wait, then I suggest you work with another partner. You can’t let everything be held up just because of me.”
Hearing this, Daniel was genuinely moved.
He had expected Aurora not to understand, but instead she turned out to be far more considerate than he imagined.
“Miss Walton, just hearing you say that puts me at ease.”
As he spoke, his eyes even welled with tears.
Seeing him like this left Aurora a little at a loss.
She hadn’t done anything extraordinary–only said what needed to be said. Why was he so emotional about it? The thought made her feel a bit puzzled.
“Mr. Lewis, are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” Daniel answered seriously.
“I’m just touched. What you said really makes sense. I never expected to meet someone with such an open heart. Clearly, the people I’ve dealt with before were far too narrow–minded.”
“This is only what I should do,” Aurora replied, taking a sip of coffee.
“Besides, it was my family’s situation that delayed you. I can’t let you shoulder the fallout and risk losing money because of me.”
“Now that you’ve said this, I really feel relieved.”
Daniel rose to his feet, sincerely extending his hand to her.
Aurora, seeing his formality, didn’t refuse.
“Then, Miss Walton, I’ll let you get back to work. I know where I stand now.” His expression was serious,
full of respect.
Though Aurora didn’t quite understand his reaction, she still gave him the courtesy he deserved.
“It’s nothing. If you ever need anything, you can always come to me.” Aurora spoke earnestly.
“Since you’ve thought of working with me, it means we share common ground. If you need my help in the
future, don’t hesitate.”
“Alright, Miss Walton. With your word, I won’t hold back.”

Aurora watched his departing figure, her eyes narrowing slightly. Something about this didn’t feel right.
Why was he so insistent on working with her?
Even though she had secured a few projects during her time at Walton Corporation, that hardly made her a dominant force in the industry.
So, what was it that made Daniel so determined to cooperate with her?
Aurora sensed it wasn’t simple. Someone must have told him to pursue her specifically.
Beyond that, she couldn’t think of any other explanation.
After leaving, Daniel felt much lighter. The problem that had weighed on him was finally resolved.
Back at his company, he began scouting for new partners.
Since Aurora’s studio still needed more than half a month, he could easily look for other options while
waiting for her.
That way, if Lucas ever questioned him, he’d have an excuse ready.
And more importantly, it wouldn’t delay his project’s timeline.
Even with Lucas’s backing, the project was one that many were watching closely.
Why should he stake everything on Aurora alone?
He could just as well find someone new.
