If she were just going to waste her time on this, then what was the point of leaving the Walton Corporation in the first place? She might as well have stayed and kept struggling there.
Lucas‘ eyes gleamed brighter. “Aurora, your determination and resilience truly impress me.”
“You’re the CEO of Vanguard Group. What do my little achievements even count for next to yours?”
The two of them exchanged a few words of polite flattery.
Finally, they shared a smile–each seeing the same ambition reflected in the other’s eyes. Clearly, neither of their goals stopped here.
The world was moving forward, and so must they. Anyone who stood still would be left behind.
The next day, Aurora arrived at the studio.
Megan walked in holding a stack of documents to report the updates.
“Aurora, the director just told us filming starts tomorrow.”
“Alright, no problem. Let him know I’m ready.”
Aurora wasn’t the least bit surprised by the news. It was bound to happen sooner or later, only a matter of time.
She had already planned everything for the studio; there was no chance she’d abandon it halfway.
“So, what time are we heading out tomorrow?”
Megan could barely contain her excitement. Just the thought of traveling with Aurora made her heart race. It would be her first time witnessing the behind–the–scenes work of actors and seeing so many celebrities in
person
“Around seven or eight in the morning,” Aurora replied. “We’ll have to get up early. Did the director tell us where we’re shooting?”
“The filming location’s in Bustin City, just next door.”
Aurora nodded. “That’s not bad. It’s close enough.”
“Yes, that’s right. You’ll be going to the museum in Bustin City, It houses ancient relics related to architecture. Our first stop is there to learn about the local culture before filming.”
As Aurora’s temporary assistant, Megan had already done her research beforehand.
“Sounds good. The location’s close enough, so there’s no rush.”
Megan’s face was already full of excitement, clearly imagining life in Bustin City.
“I heard the hand–pulled noodles and local dishes there are really famous.”

Aurora pressed her hand to her forehead helplessly. “We’re going there for work, not for food and sightseeing. You need to remember your priorities.”
Megan defended herself earnestly. “Of course I know that! I just thought we could experience the local culture during our breaks. We’ve traveled before, but I’ve never really studied Bustin City’s culture properly.”
“Well, now’s your chance, isn’t it?” Aurora said with a fond look in her eyes.
Megan grinned, already picturing the trip ahead.
“Who would’ve thought I’d actually get to follow you to a variety show one day?”
“There’ll be plenty more chances like this,” Aurora replied with a knowing smile.
She could already guess that opportunities like these would keep coming.
After all, they were great exposure for the studio, and she had no intention of turning them down.
She looked at Megan. “Go get packed. And call Ian in for me.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Megan replied playfully, exaggerating her salute to make Aurora laugh.
Aurora couldn’t help shaking her head in amusement.
When Ian came in and saw the smile on her face, he couldn’t help but feel happy too.
