Chapter 1552
Because she suddenly decided to take a break, everyone else unexpectedly got a day off as well.
Yvonne let out a cold scoff. Though she wasn’t pleased with the director’s decision, it was still the best way to
end things.
She turned and walked away, the sharp click of her heels echoing across the floor.
Everyone watched her leave, feeling awkward and confused about what she was so angry about.
If anyone had a reason to be upset, it should’ve been Aurora.
After all, Yvonne was the one who tried to use the situation to boost her own reputation and belittle Aurora in front of everyone.
Yet Aurora hadn’t said a word, while Yvonne ended up storming off instead.
Her ability to twist things around and play the victim genuinely surprised them.
They all thought the same thing but didn’t dare say it aloud.
Everyone knew what kind of person Yvonne was, so they just kept their thoughts to themselves.
Once the live stream ended, Megan came over to Aurora and asked, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. Really, I should be the one thanking you,” Aurora said, looking at her earnestly.
But Megan didn’t feel comforted. Instead, she felt she had caused trouble for Aurora.
“But I didn’t really help you,” she said softly, lowering her head. “I feel like what I said only made things worse. Otherwise, why would Yvonne keep holding onto it?”
Her voice trembled as she spoke, guilt thick in her tone.
She couldn’t stop blaming herself—why was she always so clumsy? Why did she keep putting Aurora in these impossible situations? Was she even worthy of being her friend?
And she could tell that the things Aurora said earlier were meant to protect her.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have said those things.
Aurora pulled Megan aside, her voice filled with surprise. “Why would you think that?”
“But if I hadn’t said those things earlier, you wouldn’t have had to apologize to Yvonne. I just feel like I dragged you down. If only I’d thought before I spoke.”
Hearing that, Aurora felt a wave of emotion.
She knew Megan meant well, but she didn’t want her to fall into such self–blame.
“Megan, you have to understand–even if I hadn’t apologized, Yvonne would still have kept coming after us. Her goal is clear.
“She’s targeting me. You saw how she deliberately acted double–faced in front of everyone. Do you really think I

don’t know what she’s doing?”
“So you mean…” Megan’s eyes glistened with tears as realization struck her.
Aurora nodded firmly under her gaze.
“So even if I hadn’t said anything, she still would’ve come after us.”
A cold light flashed in Aurora’s eyes. “I already have a pretty good idea what she’s after. It’s probably because of Lucas. That’s why she’s deliberately picking on me.‘
“Oh, so you already knew.” Megan’s tone was awkward.
Aurora frowned slightly, puzzled. “Why? Is it strange that I know?”
