“No, it’s just that I thought you didn’t realize what she really thought of you. Since you’re on the same show, I figured she’d definitely come after you for that.”Â
Aurora let out a small laugh. “So, Yvonne used to like Lucas, didn’t she?”Â
“Aurora, maybe you shouldn’t ask me that.”Â
Megan hesitated, caught between her cousin and her friend. She didn’t want to offend either side.Â
And she knew exactly what her cousin was like–grudge–holding and petty, always finding ways to take things out on her whenever something went wrong.Â
If Lucas ever found out she was the one who told Aurora, she didn’t even dare imagine the consequences. Losing her allowance would probably be the least of it.Â
If it affected her parents‘ business, what then?Â
She had been afraid of her cousin since childhood, and even now that they were adults, the fear had only grown stronger.Â
What made it worse was that her friend had actually married him.Â
But the fear never faded–it only deepened. She dreaded the idea of him saying something that could put her in a difficult spot, leaving her trapped on both sides.Â
Aurora could already tell what Megan was afraid of.Â
Though she understood her, from her own perspective, she still wanted to know the truth.Â
“Megan, don’t worry. Even if you tell me, I won’t go and confront Lucas. I know exactly what kind of person he is.”Â
“Do you really?” Megan asked doubtfully, glancing at her with uncertainty.Â
After all, she had never told Aurora anything directly.Â
She had only warned her to be careful around Yvonne.Â
Aurora curved her lips into a faint smile. “Everything’s already laid out so clearly. I’m not stupid. I can see what’s going on.Â
“After all, when two women clash like this, it’s usually either over money or a man. And it’s obvious Yvonne isn’t short of money.”Â
Megan’s eyes sparkled as she listened to Aurora’s analysis.Â
She hadn’t expected Aurora to understand everything so well. It seemed all her earlier worries had beenÂ
unnecessary.Â
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”Â
Aurora had always known what Megan was anxious about, so she would never let herself sink into a mess thatÂ

would make her friend worry.Â
She knew exactly what she wanted and what she didn’t. These were things she had already thought through long ago.Â
Seeing that, Megan finally felt relieved.Â
“Then get some rest tonight. I won’t bother you anymore,” she said, stretching. “I’ll head to bed too. I feel better seeing you like this. We’ve got filming tomorrow, so let’s rest early.”Â
“If you need anything, make sure to call me right away.”Â
Being away from home, Aurora still didn’t feel entirely at ease letting Megan stay alone.Â
Luckily, their rooms were close to each other, which eased her worry a little.Â
“I’m a grown woman, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be fine.”Â
Megan smiled, knowing Aurora meant well, but she didn’t want to trouble her any further.Â
