“Why are you here all of a sudden? Did something happen?”Â
Aurora didn’t continue the earlier topic. After thinking about what Lucas said, she realized he had a point.Â
She’d been filming the whole day, so there was no time for him to see her. Now that she was back at the hotel, this was the only moment he could meet her without running into Megan.Â
“I saw what happened with Yvonne. I got worried, so I rushed over from Ravenshore,” Lucas said honestly.Â
He didn’t want there to be any regrets between them. They’d gone through too much to reach this point, and if they couldn’t be open with each other now, then what was the point?Â
“So you knew Yvonne was coming to join the show?”Â
Aurora hadn’t expected that Lucas had been following Yvonne’s movements that closely.Â
Lucas nodded seriously. “I only found out through my uncle. I didn’t even know when she returned. Once he told me, I came straight to Bustin City. I was worried she might cause trouble for you.”Â
“Why would she want to hurt me?”Â
Aurora feigned ignorance, though she wanted to hear from his own mouth what exactly had gone on between them.Â
Why had he never told her before?Â
Why wait until things were already exposed and irreversible to finally come clean?Â
That habit of his was something Aurora couldn’t stand.Â
Lucas could tell from her tone that she already knew the truth and was only asking to see how he’d respond.Â
“You already know, don’t you?” he said with a hint of teasing.Â
Aurora, however, kept a straight face and shook her head. “Those are just my guesses. How would I really know?”Â
“I think your guess is right,” Lucas said deliberately, still circling around her words.Â
Hearing that, Aurora instantly lost all interest in continuing.Â
She had made it clear that she was only guessing, hoping he would be honest with her, but he still refused to tellÂ
the truth.Â
With him, she felt that same familiar sense of deception again. Why couldn’t he just be upfront about what had happened between him and Yvonne? What was he hiding?Â
Or was there really something between them that couldn’t be spoken of?Â
The thought made her chest tighten, her breath unsteady. It suddenly felt like everything she had done meant nothing at all.Â

With Lucas, she never truly felt safe–he was always surrounded by too many women.Â
There was Yvonne today, but what about tomorrow? Would it be someone else?Â
When he still refused to explain, Aurora finally said coldly, “I’m tired. You should go.Â
>>Â
“What do you mean by that?” Lucas asked, confused by her sudden tone. Her words caught him completely off guard.Â
But Aurora didn’t respond. She turned and walked toward the bed.Â
“I told you, I need to wash up. I have filming tomorrow, so I don’t have time to entertain you.”Â
