Chapter 1293
She hadn’t expected the beautiful woman’s voice to sound so captivating too.
But Aurora only frowned, her discomfort clear.
“If you’re here for an interview, then why aren’t you focusing on the job? Instead, you’ve been staring at me the whole time. Do you think this is a place to fool around?”
The girl’s face drained of color. She hadn’t realized every little move had been noticed, especially under Aurora’s sharp gaze–there was nowhere to hide.
Ian, quick on the uptake, understood instantly. This candidate was already done for. Keeping her any longer would only waste time.
He cleared his throat. “Alright, that’s enough for today’s interview. Go home and wait for a call.”
The girl stood nervously, fidgeting with her fingers. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but Aurora’s cold expression stopped her.
She swallowed her words, turned, and left.
She knew she had no chance now.
Some habits, like staring at attractive faces, were just too ingrained, and had cost her this opportunity.
Once she was gone, Megan finally spoke up. “Aurora, why did you cut her off so quickly?”
She knew the moment Aurora had spoken, she’d already dismissed the girl. Having spent so much time with her, Megan understood her personality well.
Aurora shook her head.
“Her mind wasn’t on the job. From the moment she walked in, she kept staring at me.
“Tell me, what could be more important than the interview itself? If she can’t take something this important seriously, how could I ever trust her with a real project later?”
Megan instantly understood.
An employee who couldn’t focus now would never take future tasks seriously either.
“I’ve learned something,” Ian said earnestly.
Megan only looked at Aurora with admiration.
She was right–interviews really were fascinating, though only from the side of the one asking the questions.
As for the candidates who followed, none of them particularly caught Aurora’s eye either.
The men and women who had come in so far were either burdened with bad habits, aloof to the point of arrogance, or careless and sloppy.

Ian had already learned to read Aurora well–if she so much as opened her mouth with a comment, it meant that
candidate was a no–go.
More than half the interviews had already passed, and Aurora still hadn’t found a single fit.
Pressing her fingers against her temple, she felt the fatigue sink into her bones.
If things kept up like this, she couldn’t possibly leave for the TV program with any peace of mind.
Ian would never be able to manage both the studio and the project alone. And with Megan set to leave alongside her, the design work would stretch him far too thin.
Megan slumped in her chair, staring helplessly at the ceiling.
“Aurora, we’ve already gone through most of them. There are only a few left, and by now, the rest must be thinking we’re impossibly strict. Everyone who walked out looked miserable.”
Aurora sighed, her tone half–wry, half–defeated. “Forget them looking miserable. I’m about ready to look like I’m carrying the weight of the world myself.”
