Chapter 14
Juliet rushed to the front lines with the rest of the team, her eyes scanning the rubble frantically.
She didn’t know how long it had been before she finally found the man’s figure beside an
abandoned truck.
The man was lifted onto a stretcher, but just after a few steps, his mask fell off.
Claire gasped. “Whoa, he’s so handsome!”
Juliet looked down.
The moment she saw the man’s face, her breath stopped.
Spencer.
It really was him!
At the same time, Spencer, lying on the stretcher, opened his eyes.
Upon seeing Juliet beside him, he immediately grabbed her wrist, his voice trembling with relief, “Juliet, don’t leave…”
Claire’s eyes widened. “You two know each other?”
Juliet didn’t know how to explain.
She struggled hard, but Spencer’s grip on her wrist was like shackles embedded in her flesh, and
she couldn’t break free.
The two of them returned to the camp in an awkward manner.
Juliet tried to leave, but Spencer insisted she be the one to treat him.
Eventually, even Claire had no choice but to give in.
“Juliet, just help him out, at least because he’s so handsome!”

Juliet was almost forced to stay.

It wasn’t until Spencer called her name that she suddenly pressed down hard on his wound in
anger!
Spencer gasped in pain!
But Juliet still feels upset.
She thought she had moved on.
But seeing Spencer’s face again made her relive those past humiliations.
She had trusted Spencer so completely, but how did he treat her?
He had spread that humiliating video, had his friends torture her with chili water, and even stood
by and did nothing when she was at the mercy of kidnappers…
What right did he have to come back for her now?
Juliet’s grip tightened, and only when Spencer’s forehead began to bead with sweat from the pain
did she finally release her hold.
“Done.”
Juliet didn’t hesitate as she turned to walk away.
But just then, Spencer suddenly stood up, grabbing her wrist with frantic strength and slamming
her back onto the bed.
Juliet gasped. “Spencer, what are you doing?!”
Spencer’s voice was filled with suppressed emotion as he seemed oblivious to the blood still seeping from his wounds. “Juliet, come home with me. I’ve broken up with Charlotte. ‘ll give you the wedding you deserved!”
Juliet locked eyes with him, her gaze cold and indifferent.
After a long pause, she muttered, “What makes you think I’ll go back with you?”
“The Juliet who loved you is dead. You killed her.”
“Spencer, if the same pain were to happen to you, would you forgive me?”
Spencer’s body trembled sharply.

He wanted to retort.
But as he thought back to everything he had done to Juliet, not a single word came out.
Juliet pried his hand off hers and spoke slowly, “Operation Dawnlight will take a long time. I’m not leaving, and you don’t need to waste any more time here.”
“Spencer, I don’t love you anymore. I don’t plan to keep hating you either. I just wish I had never
met you.
Spencer was pushed away, stumbling back to sit on the edge of the bed.
He tried to get up, but the pain from his injuries made him groan. Gritting his teeth, he muttered, “I don’t expect your forgiveness, but I won’t let you go. Now that I’ve found you, don’t even think about disappearing from my world again!”
Juliet didn’t look back at him as she turned and walked away.
She thought that after everything, Spencer would never pursue her again.
But the next day, as she was heading to the restroom, a few people suddenly covered her mouth and nose, and she lost consciousness on the spot!
When she woke up, she found herself back in Ridgewood.
