Chapter 15
Spencer Whitmore had Juliet imprisoned.
In the vast villa, Juliet’s wrists and ankles were tightly shackled by cold iron chains. Every small
movement she made caused the chains to clink loudly.
It was only at this moment that Juliet understood–Spencer was far more terrifying than he
appeared.
He had traveled across countless miles to find her in the warzone, not out of love, but to satisfy his
absurd need for possession.
“What am I to you?”
After failing to escape for the thirty–eighth time, Juliet asked Spencer this question.
Spencer caressed her face with an obsessive expression, his eyes gleaming with desire like a fire burning out of control.
“You are the person I love most,” he answered, his voice almost a whisper.
Juliet suddenly laughed.
She laughed until tears streamed down her face.
During her time in captivity, Spencer had made sure the kitchen prepared various delicacies every
day, and millions of dollars‘ worth of luxury items piled up in front of her.
Even the servants tried to persuade her to accept the life of being Mrs. Whitmore, living a life of wealth and luxury without lifting a finger.
But the more Spencer gave her, the emptier she felt inside.
The chains on her body constantly reminded her that she was not a person, but a mere plaything.
Gradually, her depression resurfaced, and her body began to waste away at an alarming rate. She became a shadow of her former self, barely holding onto life.
When Spencer returned from a business trip, he was shocked by her appearance.
He rushed to have her chains removed, but Juliet was too weak to run; she simply collapsed against him, her breathing shallow and faint.

“How are you all taking care of Juliet?!” Spencer’s veins popped in anger as he glared at the servants. “Call the doctor, now!”
The doctor arrived quickly and conducted a full examination.
He then pulled Spencer aside, his tone serious. “Miss Juliet’s condition is due to psychological issues. You cannot keep her locked up like this any longer, or else…”
“Or else what?” Spencer’s gaze turned cold, his eyes dark and menacing.
The doctor had heard of Spencer’s violent temper.
After some hesitation, the doctor chose to swallow his words, and before leaving, he heard Juliet’s faint voice pleading with him.
She whispered, “Please…help me.”
The doctor’s heart ached, but in the end, he made up his mind and walked away.
As he watched the doctor’s retreating figure, Juliet closed her eyes in despair.
In the days that followed, Spencer hired a psychologist to hypnotize her, trying to erase her
memories.
Just when Juliet thought she would never escape, something unexpected happened.
A fire suddenly broke out in the villa. The servants scrambled to free her from her restraints and led her outside to escape.
At that moment, a familiar figure rushed toward her.
“Juliet, come with me!”
Claire threw Juliet on her back, and they stumbled out of the villa and into a car parked on the side
of the road.
When Juliet saw who was in the car, she froze.
It was someone she thought she would never see again in this lifetime.
It was her last remaining family in this world.
