Chapter 5
When Juliet woke up, she found herself lying in a hospital bed.
Spencer was sitting beside her, working on his laptop. As if sensing her gaze, he looked up at her.
Their eyes met, and Spencer subtly let out a sigh of relief, though his tone remained as cold as ever.
“How does it feel to be the one suffering now?”
“Remember this lesson. Don’t cause any more trouble for Charlotte.”
Juliet turned her face away in silence, a single tear slipping quietly down her cheek.
Once, she had seen Spencer as her salvation.
But now, his actions were no different from those who had bullied her.
Spencer watched the silent woman on the bed, and for some reason, a strange discomfort stirred in
his chest.
She had let jealousy drive her to hurt Charlotte, so she deserved the consequences.
So why did her tears unsettle e him?
Just then, the door opened, and a nurse stepped in. “Mr. Whitmore, Miss Cohen’s air conditioner in
her room is broken…”
Spencer frowned. “Fix it then. Why bother me with this?”
“It’s already been reported, but the repairman won’t be here for an hour. Miss Cohen is complaining of the cold, and there aren’t any other rooms available…”
Hearing this, Spencer immediately stood up.
“What kind of hospital is this? An air conditioner takes this long to fix?” His brows furrowed.
“Charlotte has always been fragile. She can’t stand the cold. Move Juliet, and put Charlotte in here.”
“B–but…” The nurse hesitated, looking at Juliet in the bed.
Juliet had suffered from the chili water, her esophagus and stomach lining severely burned. Any
mistake could send her back into danger.
Meanwhile, Charlotte had only eaten a piece of nut cake, and after a few allergy shots, she would be

fine.
Yet to Spencer, it seemed the torment Juliet had suffered was nothing compared to Charlotte’s
discomfort.
“What are you waiting for? If Charlotte catches a chill, I’ll shut this hospital down myself!”
Spencer’s words brooked no argument, and the nurse quickly complied.
Soon, Juliet was moved into Charlotte’s room.
Spencer went to stay with Charlotte, leaving Juliet alone in the large hospital room.
As she realized everything that had happened, she could no longer hold back her emotions. Tears poured down her face.
As she cried, a wave of cold hit her.
Following the chill, Juliet realized the air conditioner was on, blowing cold air directly at her.
In that instant, everything became clear.
Charlotte had deliberately lied about the air conditioner being broken to move her in here, making her suffer in the cold as a form of revenge.
With each passing moment, the temperature in the room dropped, and Juliet felt the cold seep into her bones. Her teeth chattered uncontrollably.
She tried to call out for help, but her throat was swollen, unable to make a sound.
She reached for the call button, but her arms were too weak to hold it. After a few seconds, it fell back to the table.
Juliet was utterly hopeless. She curled into herself, trying to hold on to the last bit of warmth.
She didn’t know how much time had passed when someone finally noticed her, forgotten in her misery.
But when she struggled to open her eyes, what she saw was Charlotte’s gloating face.
“Juliet, look at you, you’re nothing more than a stray dog.”
“To get back at me, Spencer’s gone to great lengths to torment you. Now, your photos suffering are being passed around, everyone’s making fun of you.”

“Oh, by the way, I just got a call from a porn studio looking to cast you as their lead in their next work, haha…”
Charlotte laughed, her voice dripping with malice.
When she had finished laughing, she suddenly grabbed the most damaged part of Juliet’s arm and
squeezed hard!
Blood splattered, and Juliet’s vision went black.
“Now you see, don’t you? Who does he truly love?”
“Admit your mother was a whore. Then disappear–before I vomit at the sight of you.”
The light in Juliet’s eyes dimmed, replaced by an endless emptiness.
Disappear?
She would.
Soon, she’d be on a plane–far from this hell. Forever.
