Chapter 27 Sweet Twist–Corin’s Tsundere Side?Â
Chapter 27 Sweet Twist–Corin’s Tsundere Side!Â
Kael didn’t get a response from Nova, but he pushed the door open anyway.Â
His eyes landed on her by the calendar–another red X had been added.Â
The wedding anniversary was drawing closer, but why did he feel more anxious?Â
“Nova.” He set the milk aside.Â
From behind, he wrapped his arms around her slim waist. His chin rested gently on her shoulder, nuzzling softly. “I’m sorry. I’ll stop doing things you don’t like, okay?”Â
Nova’s expression was blank as she tried to pull away slightly, resisting his scent–she was too tired to play along.Â
Kael felt her resistance but held her tighter. “As for Sloane–if you don’t like her, I’ll terminate her agency contract tomorrow.”Â
Nova froze and thought she’d misheard.Â
Isn’t Kael fond of Sloane? How could he bear to let her go?Â
Kael read her mood shift. “Baby, forgive me?” He kissed the soft skin of her neck, tone gentle.Â
Coming to her senses, Nova’s face turned pale, and she pulled away as if shocked, saying, “I’m tired. I want to sleep. You should rest too.”Â
Her meaning was clear–she didn’t want to share the bed.Â
“Honey.” Kael’s eyes darkened, a hint of urgency in his voice.Â
Nova stood her ground. “I’m really tired.”Â
Kael stared at her for a few seconds, then gave in–he was in the wrong today. “Fine. Sleep well.”Â
He lifted her up, set her gently on the bed, took off her shoes, tucked her in, and handed her the warm milk.Â
Then he kissed her forehead, turned off the light, and quietly left.Â
As soon as the door closed, Nova’s faint smile vanished. She got out of bed and took another shower, scrubbing the places Kael had touched.Â
She leaned against the cold wall, covering her face and crying.Â
The scent she once relied on now felt like torture.Â
After a while, she stumbled back to the bedroom.Â
In the dim room, the nightstand phone glowed. She saw the message–and her already pale face lost all color.Â
[Nova, it must hurt–loving someone for years who doesn’t trust you. Being humiliated by the one you love most… Tsk, how painful?]Â
[Nine years of love isn’t worth my ninety days!]Â
Tears blurred Nova’s vision, her chest feeling tight as if she couldn’t breathe.Â
She’d loved him so long–only to be a joke in the end!Â
Sloane could almost picture Nova’s pain, and her mood finally lifted.Â
…Â
Rejected and upset by today’s mess, Kael poured himself a glass of wine.Â

Suddenly, his phone rang.Â
He frowned at the caller ID and hung up–but the calls kept coming.Â
Kael lost patience. After he glanced at the upstairs bedroom, he answered.Â
Sloane’s tearful voice came through. “Kaell Why terminate my contract? I didn’t let Corin was really with Nova in that room–you have to believe me…”Â
At the mention of Corin, a cold light flashed in Kael’s eyes.Â
Today had been chaotic, and Corin was a thorn in his side. He trusted Nova, but not Corin.Â
His tone turned sharp. “Enough. Drop it. The termination is final. Tomorrow, Sam will send you more money. I told you my bottom line when we started–ler’s end this amicably. I’ll handle your agency. You won’t be affected.”Â
Sloane’s grip on the phone loosened. She felt numb. She cried, “Kael, I’ll never do it again! Don’t leave me…”Â
This time, Kael didn’t comfort her. He hung up coldly.Â
The cold dial tone echoed in Sloane’s ears, her heart turning to ash.Â
Is this the end? No–I’m not giving up!Â
The next morning, Nova didn’t go with Kael; instead, she packed her things and said in a cold, distant tone, “I have things to take care of. I’ll go first.” Then she drove to the company alone.Â
Kael felt terrible.Â
Now, even hearing her call him “Honey” felt like a luxury. Why was she so hard to appease?Â
He rubbed his temples, frustrated.Â
Nova had a business lunch at 11 AM.Â
he’d built the marketing department from scratch, carefully selecting every product.Â
he couldn’t bear to give it up. Even if she was leaving, she wanted to wrap things up perfectly.Â
The 9th floor of Commerce Tower is the Banquet Hall.Â
Tova handed over her invitation and walked in, checking the time occasionally–she was waiting for someone.Â
oon, a commotion broke out at the entrance.Â
Whoever was late must have a high status.Â
Nova raised her eyebrows and looked over. She saw Corin surrounded by people–he stood out among the executives.Â
Next to him was Grace. They made a perfect couple, even sharing a similar aura.Â
No wonder they’re together.Â
Grace walked over with Corin, arm linked with his. She smiled. “Ms. Hale, you’re here too.”Â
Corin nodded politely as a greeting, his expression cold.Â
‘I’m here to discuss business with Flourish Group,” Nova smiled, her eyes briefly scanning Corin’s stern face.Â

She was confused–he’d helped her yesterday, so why was he so cold today?Â
At the mention of Flourish Group, Corin’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. “Alone?”Â
“With Mr. Cain from the branch office,” Nova met his gaze and answered truthfully, even though she wondered why he asked.Â
Corin nodded and said no more.Â
Just then. Nova’s bag phone vibrated–the person she was waiting for had arrived.Â
“You go ahead. Let’s chat another time.” Grace smoothed things over.Â
“Sure. I’ll visit you another day,” Nova agreed. She walked toward Area C while answering the call.Â
For the banquet, she’d worn a dress–rare for her. The fitted mermaid skirt showed off her slim figure.Â
Her back stood out in the crowd.Â
Corin’s eyes darkened as he subtly looked away.Â
“You seem off today,” Grace said, giving him a meaningful look.Â
Corin pulled his arm out of her grasp, straightened his slightly wrinkled cuffs, and walked toward the seats ahead. He said coldly, “Find someone else for these banquets from now on.”Â
Hey! I was just joking!” Grace was flustered.Â
She needed Corin’s help for next quarter’s cooperation–she couldn’t lose him.Â
Ms. Hale, over here!”Â
