Chapter 39 Satisfaction–Nova Unleashed Her Wrath!
Nova merely raised an eyebrow, her expression calm and indifferent.
She wanted to see this bastard suffer. “Mr. Cain, the Cohen family has treated you well–Mr. Cohen even saw you as his own son and supported you every step of the way. Is this how you repay his daughter?”
Josh’s heart skipped a beat at her words.
He glanced at the trembling Michelle, then rushed over to grab her hand, his voice low and urgent. “Michelle, don’t listen to Nova. I’ll explain everything when we get home. This baby was actually conceived through IVF–you’ve always wanted a child, haven’t you? Pregnancy and childbirth are so painful; I couldn’t bear to see you suffer like that…”
Tears stung Michelle’s eyes. She’d spent years trying to get pregnant for him, going to extreme lengths–even traveling abroad for treatment.
As a wealthy young lady who’d never endured hardship, she’d endured countless injections with 0.2–inch needles, all to have a child with him.
Yet now, the scene before her slapped her awake. She’d been a complete fool! While she’d been enduring pain and needles, he’d been sneaking around with his
mistress!
A red handprint instantly appeared on Josh’s right cheek.
Being slapped in front of so many people–especially in front of Nova–was more humiliating than death.
Nova watched coldly, feeling no sense of relief; she thought the fire wasn’t burning hot enough yet.
She looked at Josh with feigned innocence and sighed. “Mr. Cain, Mrs. Cain suffered so much trying to get pregnant for you. Do you think this is how you should repay her efforts?”
Michelle’s face darkened visibly.
Josh’s heart raced–he knew he’d be finished if this continued. He shot Nova a venomous glare, then reached for Michelle’s hand again. “Michelle… let’s go hom first, okay?”
“Get away from me, you heartless monster! How could I have ever fallen for you?” Michelle’s eyes were red with rage. She pointed at him, her voice filled with despair.
She turned to her bodyguards. “Drag this bastard out! He loves cheating, doesn’t he? He loves preying on young girls? Throw him into a gay bar later, find some men, and let him taste what it’s like to be violated!”
Josh froze, his face turning deathly pale. He screamed, “Michelle, have you lost your mind?!”
Just the thought of what awaited him in a gay bar made his legs shake.
It was too humiliating–too degrading.
Nova watched his face turn paler by the second, a sarcastic smile tugging at her lips. Her eyes were as cold as ice.
Did he finally understand humiliation? When he’d tried to hand her over to Evan, he’d been so proud and triumphant.
Josh’s face was completely bloodless, except for his red, frantic eyes. With a thud, he knelt before Michelle.
“Michelle, I’m sorry! Don’t do this to me! We’ve been married for so many years–do you really want to go this far?”
“When you cheated on me, did you ever think about our years of marriage?”
Michelle took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and waved for the bodyguards to drag him away.
The two bodyguards nodded, grabbed Josh roughly, and dragged him toward the door, ignoring his struggles.
By now, a crowd had gathered outside the ward, holding up their phones to record

After more than 20 years of enjoying wealth and status, this was the first time he’d been trampled underfoot, stripped of all dignity.
And it was all because of Nova–he deeply regretted not killing her when he’d had the chance!
Feins bulged in Josh’s eyes as he stared at Nova with a murderous gaze, his pupils filled with bloodshot rage.
Nova met his stare calmly, her heart finally feeling a weight lift.

Nova swallowed the bitterness rising in her throat. Her once bright eyes dimmed with sadness.
Michelle sighed. “I should thank you for telling me about this. I also heard about Josh bullying you and stealing your project. 111 make sure you get justice for every wrong he did to you. Our Cohens are upright, we don’t do such despicable things.”
Nova froze–she hadn’t been able to contact Michelle at all…
“Mrs. Cain…”
Michelle held up a hand, her voice tired. “My secretary will contact you tomorrow to sort out the rest.”
She checked her watch, forcing a polite smile. “It’s getting late. I’ll leave now. You should rest too…”
Sova could tell Michelle was putting on a brave face.
After being with Josh for decades, she wasn’t made of stone–no one could accept such a betrayal overnight.
she didn’t press for details about who’d informed Michelle and nodded. “Thank you, Mrs. Cain.”
Michelle nodded and left.
The hallway fell silent.
Nova still had a lot on her mind. She glanced at the digital clock on the wall–it was just past nine, still early.
he didn’t want to go back to the ward to face Kael… or rather, she didn’t want to sit alone in that cold, empty room. Kael was probably still with Sloane.
he let out a bitter laugh and wandered aimlessly.
When she reached the first floor, a cold wind hit her face.
he pulled her chin into her collar, and when she looked up, she spotted a familiar car–a Maybach.
he paused; from this angle, she could see the license plate clearly.
he had a good memory–she recognized it as Corin’s car.
fter a moment’s hesitation, she walked over.
[Corin hadn’t helped her earlier, she didn’t know if she’d still be alive. Knowing Sloane’s personality, she would’ve done everything to destroy her.
When she’d woken up earlier, he’d been gone, so she’d planned to thank him in person tomorrow.
he hadn’t expected him to still be here.
ince she also had something to discuss with him, Nova collected her thoughts and walked to the car, tapping on the rear windshield.
